Trading rubies

#1
I would like to know who made the decision to discontinue trading rubies. If it was not admin, then it is still acceptable. Moderators are NOT here to make up rules as they see fit. If you want to trade at a specific rate, send a message to that player the exact amount and make him return a reply agreeing. If he does not live up to the trade, turn his worthless sorry behind into the Admin with a copy of the notes. They can see what trades actually took place and if a trade is not met by the agreement, they can punish the player.

But it is NOT UP TO THE FORUM MODERATORS TO MAKE UP RULES.

I would think that the Zorg administration would encourage these trades. If some players don't purchase zorg rubies but trade for them, then that makes the rubies even more valuable and encourages the players that buy them to buy more. One would think that this would bring in more revenue to ZE. The only thing is that if you can trade rubies with no type of trade ratio, then what else suddenly becomes available for unregulated trade?

I have the understanding that preventing these trades makes it harder to milk/push. Well, like I was told, trade rates would prevent this. How about 3,000,000 2,000,000 1,000,000 1 for the new trade rates. In other words, the same trade rates as now, but those resources can also get you one millionth of ruby

It was me who put forward the notion of stopping ruby trades. For those of you who don't see the obviousness of why, allow me to elaborate.

Rubies, are not a point generating resource. Metal, Crystal and Deuterium are. Let's take into account what TGE says, someone trades 3 million metal for a ruby. Normally trades like that are done in bulk so lets say 30 million metal for 10 rubies. Player who receives the metal can spend it and gain 6 thousand points from it. Hence, unfair advantage. A person who has a large amount of disposable income may go nuts on rubies and trade them out for massive amounts of raw resources, sky-rocketing his/her points.

This falls under the milking rule, intentional transfer of resources from one player to another. It causes unfair growth of the receiving player over others whilst hindering the growth of the one giving up their resources.

If you guys want this changed then let Zorg make the decision, for now, what we've done stands. It is against the rules to trade rubies for resources. If Zorg does allow this then he should probably remove the milking rule too, as it would be meaningless. I understand some peoples annoyance but disputing mod decisions openly like this is most definitely not the way forward.

We do make the rules. Read the Forum Rules. I wrote the majority of them.

Moved to the General Discussion forum.
if you are contemplating, then a temporary "ban" would have been more the appropriate wording. As for the rest, justification does not equal truth. Anybody can implement and justify, doesnt mean that it is appropriate. We could say that stopping the trade gives an unfair advantage to the people that have extra income could we not?

In Zorgs own words "You may post your thoughts here as well". This is another case of admin and mods NOT being able to sync together with what is wanted in the forums and now,it has bled into the game. So-be-it.

I do not see any complaints in my inbox. Only the odd mod baiting topic here and there.

I could have issued a warning for mod baiting. I could have closed the topic. I could even have been petty and banned you. Again.

But I moved the topic to the proper forum for open discussion. If you want to continue your banal tirades, go someplace else. This is not the place for your insignificant and annoying personal beef with me.

Secondly, I have been "in charge" of trade since the forums opened. I set the trade rates and monitor the forums per my assigned moderator duties.

Third, (speaking of bleeding into the game) the fact that you used your wife's moderator access to determine that there was no Administrator involvement in our decision should also be clue as your integrity and your desire to disrupt this community in any manner possible (otherwise you would have no clue as to the decision making process for this subject). Any additional abuse of those privileges and I assure you that the Administrators will be highly involved.

If you post off-topic again, make another stab at me in the open forums, or disrupt this community by circumventing the required decorum, you will be dealt with.
