what sloth meant was to earn that much res to generate a df or defense of having a moon shot it takes more than a week. so may be total earned resource can be a factor but i dont know how that can be evaluated. points means nothing in game.

Honestly the hardest thing to do is waiting for things to build and having the stuff to build with. If a new comer has say Mines all at leave 5 and throw in a shipyard ... maybe they will be set. Also when a new player joins can you do a message to them sharing the forum info with how to get started...I cant remember being a new player lol. But if you give them a few buildings already it will give them more to work with. The RES on a planet is a big no for me. Because being a new player they might take some time to spend it and will be OPEN target for other players looking for easy hits. But I think if more people would come together adn talk about what would work and everyone at least see eye to eye on it we can show what we think to Zorg and get it passed so the new comers can get this.

Be positive to new ideas and thinking! Fish has come up with a great idea, work on the details on how to make Xtreme attractive to new players.

Resources, entry level on buildings, defence ships etc. can all be worked out!

Learn from other online games... Give new players sanctuary! Aka they cannot be attacked or farmed
until they reach a certain level in defence/fleet point.

Make a tutorial program where they can earn points/rubies/ships/resources by giving them challenges they have to complete if they want the rewards.... This could also go for alliance challenges ....

When they complete a challenge they get rewarded with the above mentioned item/resource

For example:
Challenges in f/s, espionage mission, attack mission, ship building, mining. Could be that they have to reach a certain level of output from mining then they earn something. Its easy to come up with various task a new player could get a challenge on and then earn resources that way. When they have completed all challenges then they would have learnt the game basics and would perhaps be better fitted to survive in the game Look at it as a way of learning the game by giving instructions with challenges and rewards... ....

To eloborate a bit:

Mining challenges:
1. Reach Mine level 15 = 1.000.000 xtra resource from that mine type (metal/crystal/deut)
2. Reach Mine level 25 = 5.000.000 xtra resource from that mine type
3. Reach Mine level 30 = 5 ruby

Solar plant challenges:
1. Reach Solar plant level 15 = 100.000 deut
2. Reach Solar plant level 25 = 500.000 deut
3. Reach Solar plant level 30 = <random> item (ruby/ships/level up SOlar plant etc.)

Ship building challenges:
1. Build 100 ships of a type = 10 as a reward
2. Build 1000 ships of a type = 100 as a reward
3. Build 10.000 shipd of a type = <random> item (ruby/ships/level up shipyard etc.)

Fleetsave:
1. successfully fleetsave Planet to a moon = ships / 100 as a reward (minimum 1 ship max set to .....?)
2. Successfully fleetsave Moon to a Moon = 5 Rubies

A challenge could be set for each building, ship, defence etc. Use your imagination :-)

A challenge can only be performed once. And is set to complete for the user when done.

All challenges must be voluntary of course ...

The numbers/figures etc. are only suggestions. If considered! More experienced players and gamedevelopers should come up with better figures that would make it attractive for players to play :-)

Im sure intelligent ppl in this game can work something out that will make it interesting and fun to join and continue playing.

imho

UPDATE:

 Hehe My bad. These issues are covered in the approved Tutorial thread. Sry.

I just dicovered that .. But! It should not be a standalone tutorial! It should be integarted into the gameplay.
Example a tab named challenges.. and when the challenge is met there could be a blinking icon telling u about it

Oh well :-)
