your problably thinking why arnt my creators fleet inbetween the attacking fleet and your planet...well. if you angle it just right the outer atmosphere can block Heat detecters on a scanner ship. using your planet's atmosphere my creators defence ships were hidden from the attacking fleets radar.
without an Ozone this action would be impossible.
