First I am a kingdom, though not royally so.
Then spell me backwards, and I become a thin plate.
Now rearrange my consonants, leaving my vowels in place.
I am now a type of paper.

hmm, I know the first two, guess ill go from there:

The kingdom must be Animal, meaning that backwards our plate is lamina. I have never heard of the paper one, but the only other ways to spell the word that could work is manila, aminal and malina and seeing as though when I type the second and third ones my pc says it is spelled wrong, I am lead to believing that the final answer is manila.

manila is the type of paper they make the yellowy-orange envelopes out of.
