is damage split between ships?... if you send two ships does one of them take all the damage? it looked like both shields helped defend so I assumed both would split the damage meaning my SC only dies like 13% of the time on the first shot... which I understand 13% means it has to happen sometime in order to have that percentage at all, I just was unlucky.

and it wasn't my report that concerned me as much as my defense report right after... where his small cargo took 300+ damage a time... thats a a 1/4 shot of surviving 6-7 rounds however many it was by that logic...

your telling me I just happened to be the lucky person who witnessed a 1 in 16000 chance seeing his ship survive, right after a 1 in 8(or 1 in 3 if one ship when you have multiple categories of ships takes all the damage, I still don't know how that all works, I assumed fodder was good at protecting larger ships, maybe that was a wrong assumption) chance of mine dieing round one

I was more upset his lived taking much more damage than my ships and yet both my ships died and his lives... the logic of the battle system... more damage survives.. less damage easily died... does not make any sense to me... maybe I just happened to be privy to a super lucky event.

and admiral cole... when this happened my account was a day old... and its only 2 days old now I still don't have the technology for large cargoes or the income to really get it easily(still on my homeplanet, not even another colony yet)... which is why I was trying to farm people around me(not having space probes yet has cost me some headaches)

Even though the shield absorbtion says differently i would assume by the logic of Rapid Fire that the damage is not spread between ships and one ships takes it all. This may be wrong but is my opinion.

As i said before, the combat engine still needs work done on it and has a few bugs and inconsistencies to take care of.

The attacking fleet fires for 4 on the defender. The defender shields absord 4 points of damage.
The defensive fleet fires back for 324 against the attacker. The attacker shields absorb 9 points of damage.

seeing this 7 times... with his ship living when it should die like 77% of the time... I guess I just happened to get a 1 in 16000 battle report in an unlucky way.

First of all you didn't see it 7 times as combat lasts only 6 rounds. ;)

Yes, however unlikley it may seem 17% is still a chance to survive. I have given moons at much lower percentages, it is all just random numbers. These things happen.

Also remember that this is based on the difference in WSA techs between you and your opponent, these can make a significant difference.

lol.. I had 10% boost to armor over him is the only difference... neither of us had WS upgrades yet....

in the case that there are only 6 rounds though... what is that 7th round(the last one my post) where it just the number of each that we have left and 0s for all the other lines(armor shields...) but still at the bottom makes it sound like an attack happened, is that a bug?

all right... so I officially hate the fighting system on here...

1 LF killed 3 small cargoes in three straight turns(I had LFs and HFs with the cargo ships)...

it was doing 60 damage a pop... thats a 1 in 8 chance(accounting for sheild) to kill the small cargo (even though it said, defending army does 62 damage and your sheilds absorb 62 points of damage) but it happened 3 straight times

meanwhile the 2nd round of attacking I did 700 damage to that one LF and 5 solar sats... more than enough to wipe out all of their armors... and yet only the solar sats die and the LF lived that 3rd round to kill another small cargo... the attacking system on here ***** IMO...

Try tossing a coin. You might get 2 consecutive heads or tails. The chances getting another consecutive result decreases as you toss it more. 100 consecutive heads, you might say impossible but I say it is possible.
When you have tossed 10,000 you maybe able to say that you can only get heads or tails at 50:50. In theory at least.
