Hey All,

Other side of course is that this was a totally unprovoked attack.
I thought there were rules about attacking alliances without declaring war but apparently not.

Never once did I attack Khan and have disbanded my alliance as a result because I believe my offsider was attacking him, however I dont see Flyfoot's fleet being destroyed by Khan.

In fact, it seems mighty suspect that Flyfoot, my offsider in my alliance and trusted ally and once a sworn enemy of Khan (who on several occasions asked me to attack Khan) which I did not as it was his fight not mine, has now joined Khan, which to me seems to reek of backstabbing and working together which is totally against the rules is it not?

Or is this sort of behaviour fine?

I've lost my fleet before, but never to an unprovoked attack like this.

Reeks of cowardice to me, why doesn't Khan attack Squirrel or Mintaka??

There was no fair play here at all

 Dunno who fed you that tripe but one can attack who he chooses without declaring war. Wars are for removing the bashing rule (No more than 5 attacks per planet in 24Hrs). My guess is that your buddy never "back stabbed" you so kiss, make up and learn to fleet save!

Nice hit Khan, you have kept those birdies well hidden!

As I explained to you, the only provocation anyone needs is a nice size fleet that will yield a good profit. Almost everyone has lost all or part of their fleet at some point.

I had scanned Flyfoot a number of time, because like you, he was an up and coming player with a good size fleet. Opportunity knocked in your direction and I took it. After you disbanded your alliance, I sent Flyfoot a PM. He mentioned that he was looking for an alliance and I invited him to join me. I have watched his progress for awhile and notice he was doing really well.

There was no collusion prior to that. If you have not disbanded your alliance after my attack, I am sure Flyfoot would have remained every bit as loyal as he had been up to that point.

Why don't I attack Squirrel on Crack or Mintaka? Easy, they would crush my fleet in one round. I don't even scan planets in the same sector as those guys. I don't want to draw unwanted attention and I fleet save like crazy.

As far as war is concerned, Declaring War is only for removing the Bashing rule (max 5 attacks/planet). I doubt I will ever officially declare war on anyone. No need for it.

Malpherion, the only reason Khan didn't take out my fleet, is probably because I left him a very narrow window of opportunity to do so.

I also was disappointed when you disbanded the alliance, I wasn't going anywhere... but then you panicked and disbanded, without even mentioning anything to me except that your fleet got hit by Khan. I don't know how good you are at timing your fleet saves, but if your main fleet gets hit while you're offline, its kind of your own fault.

All in all, this is a game, and my intention wasn't to backstab you, I'm sorry you feel that way.
Khan made an aggressive move towards me a while back when I first started... and I sent him a couple PMs thinking it might help intimidate him, and the only response I got was...
"Then do something about it " ... So I proceeded to pool my resources and get a complete list of all the planets, and coordinates I could find, and proceed to try to track his fleets, which isn't the easiest task.

Khan has never directly attacked me, but I'm sure if he were given a golden opportunity, he would have taken it, just like he did with you.
It's nothing personal, I'm sure, so don't take it that way.

In the end, I really didn't like the fact that you disbanded the alliance, without a word to anyone, it was kind of a "WTF" moment for me....
So the offer was put on the table, and I took it.
I know Khan is a good player with alot of tips to share, he's cautious, and so am I.

I'm also pretty sure he's not going to disband his alliance the moment his fleet gets crashed.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do Malpherion, Sorry for any hard feelings this has caused you, I had to do what was best for me.
