Re: Phalanx Discussion
#2basically, change it back, no discussion needed, you just tilted the game way to much.
Re: Phalanx Discussion
#3Now you would need a 9.9k moon to feel safe FSing. And that should still be used with slot 16 moon. Unless you have 2 9.9 moons in the same system.
What good is the recalled missions not showing fleet composition if they can still see the fleet composition before it was recalled?
Last time I was in speed, I can do less than 6 mins same-system attacks. Which means even with a moon, it would be suicidal to launch attacks against planets which last longer than 7 mins if one of your neighbors is stalking you.
What changed?
it's no longer safe to send missions to planets even if you launch from a 9.9k moon.
The best option for now IMO is to rollback the change.
A. It seems you can easily change what the lanx shows so just remove recalled "deploy missions" from lanx.
B. If you cannot block expeditions to slot 16 moon then add a warning that it is not allowed. Like that of espionage mission.
A should be implemented first before B.
P.S. Major changes like this should be announced at least a week before it is implemented. I think the playerbase's inputs should be considered too. What happened to the beta testers?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The new changes might be great for people who loves risks. It might be good for people on a level playing field.
It might end up to guessing and figuring out who has the bigger brother online.
...it might improve nothing at all too.
It's a fleeter thing. I doubt turtle miners would have anything against it. I actually think it is in their favor.

Re: Phalanx Discussion
#4There are still 3 options to fleet save safely:
-A fleet starting from a Moon towards another Moon
-A fleet starting from a Moon towards a Debris Field
-A fleet starting from a Moon towards Expedition slot
The meaning is that if you want to fleet save safely, you need a moon. Before this, you did not need one. This was wrong. Moons are meant to be very important in the game.
Now, combined with Moon Destroy tweak some months ago, moon destroy is not such an easy task. You need 25% to even get a roll attempt. For more details use:
http://www.zorgtools.com/?tool=destroy_moon
A 9600 diameter moon needs at least 153 deathstars to get a roll, which may fail and which may cost the attacking player his fleet. If a player wants to take this risk to take down your moon, he should be able to get the chance to also catch your fleet. (Not to mention that the chance to catch your fleet is not great enough, especially if you have many moons)
If you feel too uneasy about it, try getting larger moons.

Re: Phalanx Discussion
#5Slot 16 can still be used for a safe FS even without a moon. Though it has 2 limitations now.
The worst effect that is most evident is "it's no longer safe to send missions to planets even if you launch from a 9.9k moon."

If you send to slot 16 from a planet, your fleet will appear if someone phalanxes your planet. If you experienced otherwise at any case, please open a bug report and we will fix it.
You are right, you are no longer safe to attack from your moon for example, your fleet will appear on phalanx. But it would still appear on the player you were attacking, right ?
You can still attack other Moons from your Moon with your fleet remaining hidden from phalanx.
You can still fleet save from your 9.9k moon to slot 16 or another moon or a Debris field with great safety as your 9.9k moon is very likely to withstand any destroy missions.
Even if your moon is small and you lose it, and you have the tough luck that opponent catched your fleet save moon, he will still have to deal with time matching, which is not always convenient. The odds are for the defender in this case, but now attacker has a chance.
Re: Phalanx Discussion
#7Albeit, you have fixed the original problem of sending FS to a moon in OUter Space (Planet 16). But with this "fix", you have broken other vital parts of the game. Such as sending fleet from a moon to a planet - now lanxable. In my opinion, fleets being sent from a moon or to a moon should still be unlanxable. That is one of the perks of having a moon.Zorg wrote:

I also do not understand how a drastic change to the game flow can be implemented without even being discussed by the player-base, or even tested before implementation. Where has has development gone with so many players paying for rubies. I am appalled with the current development of this "fix".
Re: Phalanx Discussion
#8I understand why you're defending the "fix" ,after all , it's your project. There was a glitch, but in fixing that glitch and then changing Phalanx, you have succeeded in effectively making players consider ging perma blue or just deleting their accounts. Attacking a moon from another moon, do you yourself see the flaw in that ?
Now every player will ground his fleet on planets and let his mates Lanx his planet and all others in the next systems. Saying that the defender will see your attack coming and with it the composition of the fleet is true, but where he could ask his mates to ACSdefend, now it's a open game for everybody who has Phalanx and big fleets.
I used to attack from my moons, now i barely move my fleet , because others can detect my movements and crash my fleet. Now if that's not killing the game i don't know what is... As i said in another post, all big fleeters will specialise in Lanxing those who have smaller fleets now and i'm no miner so what am i supposed to do now?

#9Not to worry Sin, I am V-moding until common sense has been realized.
This change has effectively "killed" the game as you have said.

Re: Phalanx Discussion
#10Yes...but it never appeared on the player that is hunting you...now, all they have to do is lanx every planet that I have and find it.Zorg wrote:You are right, you are no longer safe to attack from your moon for example, your fleet will appear on phalanx. Who keeps resources on their moons...not profitable....this makes no sense.Zorg wrote:You can still attack other Moons from your Moon with your fleet remaining hidden from phalanx.
He/she has more than a slight chance...simple mathematics is all it takes to figure out what time they need to launch to hit 2 seconds after my fleet lands.Zorg wrote:Even if your moon is small and you lose it, and you have the tough luck that opponent catched your fleet save moon, he will still have to deal with time matching, which is not always convenient. I agree with Torgard...I also am going into V-Mode until common sense is realized.
