I play on Speed server currently, and here is a scenario where a top player has over 9 million points of fleet, and another has 2 million of fleet standing.
Because of the incredible, OMG, unbelievable, i-just-crapped-my-pants-vast-size of force, there is no need for them to ever worry about fleet save, and that give them a huge advantage. All they have to do is just keep on sitting there creating bigger and bigger fleet force. Even the fleet force of the next 3 alliance COMBINED cannot defeat this power. Simply put, as the current state, there is no way to ever defeat them.
there has to be a punishment for having a giant over sized fleet without ever having to worry about moving them. I know that people have suggested anti-fleet missiles, and the suggestion has been disapproved, but I thought we could revisit this idea, with a bit of improved understanding.
I would suggest creating such a missile, target idle enemy fleet. the damage should be percentage based, and adjusted to ship type.
Tactical Fleet Destroyer Missile
Description: releases plasma or solar explosion that damages groups of ships. Solar Satellite absorbs its power.
cost:1 to 2 million resources per Missile (Edit: makes it expensive to spam against smaller fleet)
speed: slow, i.e. 5,000 + upgrade
damage: 0.5% to 2.5% of fleet, adjusted to fleet type, stronger ship more resistance
can be avoided, solar satellites should be immune
limit: must have a limit of how many missiles can be stored, perhaps 1 missile per 4 levels of silo, also a limit for how many can be fired per wave.
range: adjusted by upgrade
(since moving fleet away can dodge missile, and consider the cost, the missile cannot be stopped by ABM)
Damage is adjusted to enemy fleet type. LF has the most chance of being destroyed, and Solar Sat. is immune or highly resistant to the missile, and RIP has the most resistance to this missile, but not immune.
For a small fleet of 100 ships, only 0 or 1 ships die from this attack(Even RIP, however if 100 units are mixed ships, RIP has the least chance to die). For a moderate fleet of 2000, this missile will hardly do any damage to it, probably 5 to 20 random ships destroyed. This idea is only designed for MASSIVE idle fleet
Advantage: this missile idea will punish massive idle fleets that cannot be taken down by other players, and give a balance as to the number of fleet and the time needed to control them. While strong players cannot spam it against weak players.
I have thought about this carefully, please give some feed back
Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#3today, one of our top alliance member just declared that he quits (over 1 mill points), because he was attacked by an overwhelming 70000 BC, such force is impossible for regular players to defend against. and i bet the top ranked player has another tens of thousands of RIP stored at every other planet.
I believe this is a good solution to Zorg's power imbalance.

Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#4saw the combat report, and its his fault for letting his resources sit. just because your a turtle doesnt mean you can sit and not fleetsave.
Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#5yes i know this player you are talking about and schnitter is right. ive spied him numerous times and he always has profit sitting there. i even tried to help him early on and one of my main points to him was to NOT DO THAT.
the idea of "punnishing" players that keep large fleets is laughable. you want to keep your resource safe while you are offline, FLEETSAVE. you want to build big fleets, use those rubies for this purpose, and still remember to FLEETSAVE.

Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#6No terrible idea, just like all the "Great Equalizer" ideas before it. There are reasons the top players are on top, time, effort, and strategy to to name a few.
Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#7you did not even read my initial post right, dude. I am not punishing fleet-savers. Please don't post if you don't even read carefully.harryballsac wrote:yes i know this player you are talking about and schnitter is right. ive spied him numerous times and he always has profit sitting there. i even tried to help him early on and one of my main points to him was to NOT DO THAT.

and Schnitter is peanut compare to the #1 player.
Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#9dear schnitter, i am not insulting you. and yes I am a peanut. i only played for 3 weeks with this account.that's beside the pointSchnitter wrote:your a peanut compared to me.
but here is the thing though, today after I saw the report, i kept on wonder, is that whats waiting for me if i work so hard to million points? only to be dominated by top players without ever having a chance? you have to admit, "not having a chance" is not exaggerating at all.
Re: Tactical Fleet Destroyer
#10look man. i know the attacker, and i know the defender, the issue here is tharmon doesnt know how to play the game. i tried to explain it to him, believe me i did, but he didnt listen. i told him never to leave a profit like that. i let it go earlier, but have you really read those combat reports? there was very nice profit there, and that was why he was attacked. no profit=no attack. its that simple, understand that easy formula right there, you wont be attacked.
