#19Did you know that contrary to popular belief the sun is not a yellow star but rather a white star and that its peak output is green light. The reason it appears yellowish to us is the same reason it appears red sometimes at sunrise/set - atmospheric distortion. The reason it looks white rather than green is because green is exactly in the middle of our visible spectrum (which is not a mere coincidence - it makes sense that our eyes would have evolved to utilize the peak output of the sun) and so there is a symetrical mix of all visible light producing white.
Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the Spiffiest of them all?
