Now, I know what your thinking, not another freaking game suggestion about this, but well see how this idea goes.
now, how these unites work, they can only travel in between planets through ships. they count as units like resource units in the ships cargo. They are the cheapest things in the game and require no research, these will be the first units a new player will ever have. You build them in the Defense area. Now for costs and RF....
Jet Fighter: A simple yet effective planet based Fighter, since they are very small, their harder to hit. (2 units)
RF: Light Fighter 10, Heavy Fighter 13, Cruisers 15, Battleships 17, bomber 20, Battle Cruisers 22, Destroyers 23, Deathstars 24, Lunar Guardians 25 Small cargo 28. large cargo and recycle 29, Elite Cargo 30, tanks 32.
RF from: infantry 15
Structure points 100/ attack 5/ shields 2
cost: 50 metal/ 50 crystal/ 15 deut.
Tank: Simple artillery based heavy vehicle. good at wrecking structures and infantry. (3 Units)
RF: RL 25, LL 22, HL 19, IC 18, GC 16, PC 12, both domes 2, infantry 38.
RF from: Jets 32 and LF 12.
Structure points: 125/ attack 8/ shields 3.
cost: 85 metal/ 40 crystal/ 10 deut,
Infantry: your species in your armor, they will fight for your fleet. (1 unit)
RF: Jets 15, RL 15, LL 14, HL 12, IC 10, GC 8, PC 6.
RF from: tanks 38
Structure points: 25/ attack points 2/ shield points 1
Cost: 20 metal 5 crystal.
these units will show on a combat report in the same format as a ship, but will not produce DF.
Re: Planet Bound Units
#2although personally i like the suggestion...i wonder if its right for zorg....well ill say yes just for the reason it seems cool to me....although maybe a change in RF's from the jet fighter...i know this is going to get alot of critique from other players especially the older ones....we dont like change you see:P
Re: Planet Bound Units
#3i just thought it would make things a little more interesting. ill let zorg do the RF and balancing of these units, but this is the basic idea.
Re: Planet Bound Units
#4well i like the idea. i like any new idea that tweeks things a bit. loved the tweeking of the LL's, those things were just too powerful and everyone knew it. get sloth on board, zorg listens to him like he is jesus.
Re: Planet Bound Units
#5Going back to the fact that Zorg Empire is a space mmorts, I would have to say that even though the concept sounds interesting...land based warfare isn't something the game needs imo

#7I like the idea, however i think that instead of being placed in cargo as would metal, crystal, etc., they would need a dedicated transport. That way new players can use them in defense right away, but would not be able to use them in an attack until they met the requirements for the transport.
I do think Zorg Empire would benefit from an element of ground combat, but perhaps it should be separate from the space combat in some way.

Re: Planet Bound Units
#8the thing about this is it would be annoying for new players to move them, it would be much easier if they could be put in the cargo space of any ship. im not trying to make this more complex as it already is.erick99 wrote:I like the idea, however i think that instead of being placed in cargo as would metal, crystal, etc., they would need a dedicated transport. Re: Planet Bound Units
#9The problem IMO with putting them in the cargo space is that anything can transport them, and the only limit to the amount that can be transported is the amount of cargo space. Even having only one large cargo, you could transport 25,000 infantry.
Perhaps the small cargo could be their dedicated transport, this would give it some added usefulness after the large cargo is unlocked. Not sure how complex that would be, but it would be interesting.
In any case, I feel that there should either be an increase in the size of the units, or a specific transport for them, because otherwise they will become too effective due to the sheer amount that can be transported and their very low price.

#10i can live with this, but you are supposed to have a good amount of each of these units.erick99 wrote:The problem IMO with putting them in the cargo space is that anything can transport them, and the only limit to the amount that can be transported is the amount of cargo space. their worth their structure points in cargo space,
