Does the laser tech increase the attack strength of light lasers & heavy lasers?
if so is there any limit to that increase?
Same question for Ion Technology,Plasma Technology.
Re: New player need Help
#42Currently only the plasma technology in Xtreme provides bonuses on researching.
This technology increases the damage inficted by plasma cannons and bombers.
Researching high levels of laser technology and ion technology is useless at the present time.
There are suggestions regarding the use of these technologies and improvements to defenses,
They can be found here:

Re: New player need Help
#43OK, here is another question:
How is the combat calculated?
Does the shields of the battle cruiser extend to cover the cargo ships, when they are in the attacking fleet?
does the light lasers choose to attack first the unit which it has the highest rapid-fire against, or the unit which has largest count in the fleet?
Any info on this is really appreciated, feel free to expand on this.

Re: New player need Help
#46Pops in with a question.
If a player is inactive (Ii), does the harassment rule still apply? I've been playing for about 4 days, and obviously my fleet is rather small. I have a couple inactive players nearby, but my ability to transport any significant amount of resources is limited. If I milk these planets for resources, will a moderator notice this and slam the ban hammer down on me? Or is my only danger in doing this the chance that the inactive player will return and report this?
Thanks

#49How is the combat calculated?
Combat is calculated using the WSA values of the attackers and defenders and the ships types involved in the battle, the attacker must first overcome the shield value before inflicting damage upon the armour of the ships in which case the following occurs:

The ship with the lowest structure points is targeted first but RF works like so:

I'm pretty sure its 30% as wellSpy wrote: Armor: armor in a battle is 1/10th of the structure point of a ship which is individual. in a battle each ship takes armor damage individually. and karr is right a ship can only take a certain amount of beating before it is destroyed. but to make a ship destro an attacker must make a minimum 30% armor damage to get in the chance factor of crashing the ship. any more damage just increases the chance of the ship getting crashed. (the 30% reference is an educated assumption, consider it as my personal understanding .. ze dev team can confirm)

Re: New player need Help
#50I didnt know that. i always assumed it is related to the order how the ships were implemented in game, perhaps that was a bad hunch. but this makes alot more sense.Cypher wrote:The ship with the lowest structure points is targeted first but RF works like so:
To add to what zorg said rapid fire basically is a chance of firing extra shots at targets that were selected on a single round. Deathstars (RIP) has Rapid Fire Against Battlecruiser 15. what this means is that if on a round a deathstar selects to fire on a battle cruiser the chance of having another go to attack on it is a [(15-1)/15 X 100] = 93.3%.
I am almost certain that rapid fire for consecutive hits are calculated separately. also if on a round a ship is destroyed on a first hit of an rapid fire it do not get excluded from the next chances. so it might be the fact that ur RIPs just in a very rare chance will keep hitting an already destroyed BC fleet and waste all its rapid fire. but thats a slim chance.
