My highest is 464, and my lowest I ever got was 72 i think, it was a long time ago. I might not have 500, but I do have 4 planets 425+

You an fill it with Nanites, if you have the funds. You can fill it with Ship Yards, mines, silos, whatever you want.

There are plenty of good ways to fill up a planet, as long as you can get a hold of the funds.

A planet with 200 fields is tiny as hell once you start developing. Why not get the biggest, so you don't have the problem. It makes sense.
