Trading section of forums

this isnt a question or anything but I was wondering if others would discuss this with me. Anyways you all know of the the section of the forums where members can do trade and gain resources they need, but should'nt there be a rule in place to protect members from attack once they make a post of resources they have and are willing to trade for a sum of resources, but I am sure there are players that would take advantage and see that post and then attack and take what they want, which I consider low which is why I dont trade on the trading section on the forums so I cant be taken advantage of. A example of the kind of sitution would be one player make a post stateing they wish to trade a sum of resources and another player see that post and makes the choice to use it for his own gain and planexs (or however you spell that) that player's planet and sees when the other players fleet with resources arriveing time and sends a fleet to hit right after the resources are dropped or another case where the person who makes the post stateing the amount they will trade gets attacked and loses all that amount, I believe there should be a rule to protect members who wish to trade when they make a post on the Trading section of the forums. I have played for longer than most and I just thought this should be addressed, and I wanted to discuss this with others.
Any other opinions or thoughts on this?

Have to agree with you on only one point.. The trading section of the forums is risky - for the inexperienced.

If the person offering the trade is a developed player with a number of moons, experience fleetsaving, and isn't completely ignorant of the slavering hordes surrounding them... then the risk is negligible - once the trader and tradee agree on a trade.. the time and place should be kept private. If the delivery is done with at least one moon involved, and both players online.. odds for an interception or an opportune raid are rather in their favour.

Only if a mistake is made is a trade a security problem.

Don't send without either using your moon as the source or their moon as the destination, and don't leak the location/time - then there is no need for a "grace" period. Otherwise, people would most definitely abuse this... "trader savin" would be the new "v-mode hoppers"

so... :boohoo:

yes I agree it is risky but not just for the inexperienced though, strong players too,I will explain: a player who believes he is very strong and doesnt play attenion to see that there are players who are even stronger can be taken advatage of also, I mean you can send your fleet to trade with from your moon but not everyone has a moon and some have moons in galaxy 1 but how about if they have a fleet loaded with resources in galaxy 9 and need to trade but dont have a moon in galaxy 9, they wouldnt be that willing to wait several hours just to send a fleet that far and then have to send it from the moon to somewhere else again.
Also strong can be attacked too, I see the trade forums as "Hey I have resources and Im waiting why not just come take them off my hands" but personal I dont take advantage it doesnt seem right because that not the trade section purpose in the first place, and sometimes a person cant find someone to trade with within a day so the resources are still in his/or her possenion and that post in the trade forum basicly lets everyone else know that you have plenty of resources..so I though with some sort of protection until a trade has been completed would take worry away and start up more trades which is a good thing that way players could get large amounts of resources in exchange for what the other players wants, it works out for everyone.
I agree with corbeil in some ways but not all your friends could be on when you need to trade or they may not be able to trade for a amount you want, But for the most part that is a more effective way of trade in some ways
Making trades anonymous on the trading section would be good at keeping people from knowing how much you may have but...how would you find someone to trade with??
I would like the trading Post and I would use it once it comes out but I havent saw a update on the status of projects that the Team running zorg has done so far, so in the mean time the Trading section is the way to go, Oh weresloth do you think you could get a update of the progression of the trading post,ACS Attack, and other things posted on the annoucement page?
