im sorry ace but you just cant give the plasma cannon a bonus from its tech requirement if you dont apply it to something else that uses the exact same tech

thats like giving a battleship bonus from hyperspace engine but not the battlecruiser, does that make sense?

I've never used bombers, and I don't know ifanyone does, but if the PCs were boosted to be better against BS and RIPs, and bombers were boosted to be better against PCs, then that would make bombers way more important n raids. Therefore adding more depth to te game. agreed?

how about these for all three:

Laser Technology - specialises in burning through metal alloys - deducts armour bonus of enemy units in battle by 1% per laser tech level

Ion Technology - specialises in disrupting energy flows in shield arrays - deducts shield bonus of enemy units in battle by 1% per ion tech level

Plasma Technology - specialises in causing enormous damage to all objects in its path - gives a 3% bonus to damage for the Plasma Cannon and Bomber per plasma tech level


notes:

all bonuses are of base values not current totals, example is -

you go into battle against somone with level 10 laser technology

your armour technology is 15, so your bonus is listed as 150% in battle

the level 10 laser technology of the opponent reduces that bonus to 140% for the duration of that battle

same works with ion tech, but with shields


for plasma tech - look at my other post

these seem pretty balanced to me, what do you think?

Love the idea of using these techs.

- with these 1..3% boost per tech levels the defences (except LL) you still need a base boost since it would still make them all infurior to the current LL.
Since is does more then double the damage then any other defence, and has best shielding next to ions.
(and doubling with 3% needs like level 33 tech, bit undoable...)
- the gaus doesn't seem to have a tech linked to it.
In the zorg universe, if you go to sleep expect to smell napalm in the morning.

I agree with everything, except that the destroyers would have to fit in with the plasma tech, too. It says it in the description that it uses them to fight with. Unless you feel like making a new description for it, too. Like, "It uses state of the art weapons and the best targeting system to date" or something.
