#7If its a post in a sticky or announcement it only shows the little piece of orange paper next to it. I had trouble with that too

#8Eh, It gives alot of different icons to the page, whether I've read them or not. Even so, just role your mouse over the icon, and it'll pop up telling you if there is any new posts.

#10Yes, I'd like a simpler icon set. There are like 50 different ones, and I can only guess at what they mean.
