probes are probably as foolish as using cruisers, even more so.. everything has rapid fire against probes, and crystal is more valuable than metal... also probes cost some deuterium to make..

and that is why you don't send probes..

probes seem to die even with just a few enemies in battle.

I had some fool running 5 BS vs my home planet with alot of defences+ships and all.
So my shielding was 1000x over his dmg yet still all my espionage probes died. like 400 of them .....

Dunno if this was a lucky shot, if not you guess what you can do when some big shot has 10.000 espionage probes.
you get the idea :).
In the zorg universe, if you go to sleep expect to smell napalm in the morning.

The probe trick worked with low attack forces to give enemy more targets then just my LC's but quickly became impractical at higher numbers. Now I'm finally getting cruisers an Battleship's, "tanking" working better then fodder tactics. bombers seams a wast now even.
