Is the universe flat?

#1
havening hard time judging distances of planets,
Is is galaxy 9 farthest away from 1 or if universe is round is 9 closer to 1 then 3?
same thing in sectors seam quicker to attack planet 7 from 5 then it was from 6

Its not quite a matter of flat and bounded or unbounded.

Distance between any system in one galaxy and any system in an adjacent galaxy is 20,000 (fill in your own units here, as it is irrelevant). Distance between any planet in a system and any planet in a system n systems away is 2,700 + n(95).

So, stated another way, any planet in an adjacent galaxy is roughly the same distance as any planet in a system 182 systems away from yours. So if you are at 5:200:1, every planet in galaxy 4 and 6 is about the same distance away as the planets in system 5:382 and 5:18.

Two galaxies away is a distance of 40,000. Three galaxies away is 60,000 and so on.

Galaxies in the universe, systems in galaxies, and planets in systems do not wrap. Planet 1 and planet 15 are the ends of the system, and system 1 and system 499 are the ends of a galaxy. Galaxy 1 and galaxy 9 are the ends of the universe.

ETA:
For a better image of what I am saying, go to fleet and select a ship, then observe how distance works by entering in as a target different planets in the same system that you are in. Compare this with different planets in another system. Finally compare this to different planets in different systems of another galaxy.

was wondering about this too..

so, if you try and picture it, its like the galaxies are stacked on top of one another with g1 being at the bottom of the pile and g9 at the top of the pile.

i have to say though it would be a lot more convenient if the universe was in a sort of sphere and 9 was next to 1
thanks for the awesome sig surrias <3

Well in fact you will probably find its lots of Galaxys and we are just cluster forms in that galaxy of what we have salvaged on a few rocks and built up.

G1 is like Earth and the Sun is like G9, so its just one way or another. Hence the travel.

Thats my guess anyways.

No the universe does not wrap around.
The longest distance is from any point in G1 to any point in G9.
The longest distance in a galaxy is from system 1 to system 499.
The longest distance in a system is from slot 1 to slot 15.

Different ships have different speed. When they mix, the speed of the slowest ship is used.
A ships' speed will increase when their respective engines are upgrade.
