Re: Fleeter, Miner, or Turtle?

any what way you try and look at it you still need a ballance with everything. to much fleet, you can get trapped because you don't have the gas to get out of the way of a fraight train. if you don't have enough deffence you're going to end up some ones farm. if you don't have a fleet then you ain't going to have fun with this game. and if you don't have the techs then everything you do is costly and fleet take forever. i don't know about anyone else but i'd rather wait 16minutes instead of 42 for a little raid

Edit:
P.S. I'm coming for my resources back Defient!

A smart fleeter PWNS all. Having the mines means daily production and a smart fleeter builds his mines up. However, the cost/benefit ratio of mining tops out eventually where the Return on Investment is years for the uber-mines. Fleeting takes time to track and catch your prey, whereas mining to a certain degree and turtling to a greater degree requires less time to manage your account.

Fleeting is the fast track to revenue. However, it is also the most risky. The best players are well-rounded, with a giant fleet and good mines. Some choose to build defenses around those mines, while others choose to use the revenue for bait.

SOC at the height of his power had the most dominant fleet and the most productive mines. While building those mines, he had one of the most fearsome fleets. There is a balance and different players have different goals. Many fleeters, drawn to fleeting by the excitement of it, neglect their mines and defense because they don't want to be bothered with it or don't care. Their single mission is to build the largest fleet possible.

Turtle shells can be cracked. Uber-productive mines can be farmed. A fleeter with the smarts to keep his fleet safe, along with the patience and the will to sacrifice a small part of fleet development to develop their planets is the strongest player.

As far as I can remember, the only #1s were SOC, Mintaka, SBT and Gumps. They are all fleeters.

And the only one of the four actively playing is gumppy. I guess the saying about the candle burning brightest is true. So is it really a successful strategy to spend so much time with a game you burn out and end up quitting? Number Ones don't seem to last long in this game, so I say "maybe not".

Then we might see the fall of gampps sooner than expected. What say you gumppy, are you tired of running yet?
I say at the top you loose your focus cause if a challenge does not emerge soon you are bound to loose interest. I believe it's the failure to challenge the top player makes them quit. I wonder why is that?
