Rofl. An interesting analogy, though not entirely accurate, mining provides a base from which you can do literally anything you want. Like i said, if i chose to invest in it, i could have a pretty powerful fleet in a short space of time.

As for the fun of playing, it's all a matter of opinion is it not? Personally, i have more fun in this style of play than i did when i was fleeting.

When I restarted playing I was a miner for 4 months.It was very boring for me I tell you but at least now I am enjoying some profits. Mining pays and who plan to play this game for a long time should realy invest in mining for a few months especially people like me who have a family and a job.In the end its all fun as long as you are having fun no matter what style of play you choose.

Having said that Im gunna go on the topic.
I like having a nice income everyday so I am a Miner.
I like to attack small fleets that I see so I am a part time fleeter.
I like to have a decent defence on my planets.
So I guess Im a bit of all.If its fun for me it will never be boring.

I'm a total miner at the moment, although that may change a little as my (somewhat tiny at the moment - I went inactive for a long time on my old account, think it got deleted, so I started again) empire grows. But mining will still play a major part even then, as long term, it provides a permanent and steady base from which you can do whatever you want.

I am a miner... i have half of my points coming from buildings and make about 5-7 million a day on all colonies combined
