#34So on this topic all the big shots are here, I might be lucky to see clash between titans here. That would be something.
Anyways, you all have said about your preferences tell me some thing how long does it take to become from a newbie to a turtle to a miner to a fleeter?
Say I spend a moderate length of time in the game.

Re: Fleeter, Miner, or Turtle?
#35not near as long now as it was when most of us started back when game was new...more inactives now than back then..and some of the inactives now built a mine base that didn't require a SS base to power them..there are some out there with high mines but with no solar plant/fusion to supply them they shut down after 24 hours of being in the red...then the planets only regen resources at a rate that matches as if it had no mines on them at all.yyyxxxzzz wrote:So on this topic all the big shots are here, I might be lucky to see clash between titans here. all my raids are in this post and that was since the reset in April which breaks down to 4 VM's at 3 days each..18-20 hour a day average for for @ 4 months but admittadle has slowed to @ 3 to 4 hours last month investment..i just make those 3 to 4 hours count!!My mine lvl is good enough now to support me staying above the curve without the need to beat everyone up and force people to go (i) or VM..not that i have ever forced people into quitting..they do that themselves!
Re: Fleeter, Miner, or Turtle?
#36does this mean you will stop crashing people for a while? it would e nice if you gave some of us a shot to at leastget half of your points

Re: Fleeter, Miner, or Turtle?
#38I love being a fleeter. I feel this is the most productive thing anyone can be.
I started off slow working on buildings as I learned the game. After crashing a couple of small fleets, I was able to determine what was neededd to find success in my raids (with battle sim this should not be an issue though). Now with the raids from my fleet I build more fleet, buildings and techs. From my buildings I build my shell. But either way it all starts with my fleet.

Re: Fleeter, Miner, or Turtle?
#39I prefer the solid points approach. After being the target of a devastating blow i prefer the relative ease of mind that mining provides. It also provides something to fall back upon should something else happen. If i so wanted, i COULD build a rather large fleet in a very short space of time, i just don't choose to. I don't have the patience and determination that fleeting requires, people may call that laziness or lack of skill. But hell, my rank speaks for itself, can't be that bad can it?
I do realise that Gumppy or a few other could farm me into oblivion should they choose, mainly because i have very undefended planets. I've never seen a need to defend them, i hardly even get probed. However, if i chose to invest in a defence on each of those planets, coupled with the fact that i harvest my feeders of res very regularly, it is very unlikely i will be stopped in my tracks. Granted, i could not defend them enough to be immune to you, but enough that you need to launch enough ships to get through it that what you gain is not worth the launch.
