Re: Discuss new battle engine here

I designed it as a swarm vessel. Too expensive to actually replace the conventional fleet fodder, but good to build a swarm of these for protecting yourself against Death Stars. These are then countered by HF, which are then countered by BC, which are then countered by DD... well, you get it.

Overall, i quite like my idea, seeing as it brings back into play some of the other more redundant things.

And actually, you said yourself 6.6k LF can beat an RIP, so you wont need a massive amount of these to overcome an RIP, seeing as they don't receive RF from it AND have much more Attack Power than the LF.

Also, having a construction time similar to the BS rather than other small vessels of their kind, makes the Valkyrie unable to be insta-built for ninja's. Well, unless you have a huge Nanite level.

I think a mini RIP is something that is more applicable to what zorg is asking for.

Behemoth

Cost

Metal: 120000
Crystal: 100.000
Deuterium: 30.000

Construction Time

2x of the destroyer

Pre-Requistes

Weapons Technology 16
Hyperspace Engine 10
Shipyard 12
Graviton Technology 2

Statistics

Structure points: 220.000
Shield Strength: 1000
Attack Points: 10000
Cargo Capacity: 4000 units
Base Speed: 2.000
Fuel Consumption (Deuterium): 2000

Rapid Fire

none

Description

This beastly ship was developed by advancing the technologies of the graviton tech. Engineers are not able to create ships that use the graviton cannon on a lesser scale. The entire ship is designed around the cannon this it has no RF over any ship but no ship has RF over it.

i am lose with the values but this is my basic idea, it would be very weak against swarming fleets since it has no RF so its much weaker then the destroyer for the price.
You can't stop me I'm on a boat!

I dunno Sad, i was trying to bring in some of the other more obsolete things at the same time. I mean, what's the point in them existing if they aren't used anymore?

Anyway, when we get some good ideas and support for them going, new topics will be opened for each and voting on them started. Because of this you must make all your ideas as detailed as possible. If in doubt, just use something along the lines of the layout i used for my idea.

ok so here is my 1st epic RF battle and it is important to post it the way it is so that we can understand how swarm is still overpowering vs the current implamented RF engine..i understand i generate a curve that not everyone is on par with yet but in my honest opinion..i should have lost more...

Destroyed!

The attacker has won the battle !
You receive 434113 units of Metal, 1793663 units of Crystal and 5360920 units of Deuterium.
The attacker has lost a total of 92.160.000 units.
The defender has lost a total of 3.589.794.000 units.
A debris field containing 781.729.200 units of Metal and 643.455.000 units of Crystal has formed in orbit around the planet.
The probability of creating a moon is : 18 %

so what it looked like to me anyhow...RF is not evenly going across the board but rather starting with the weaker ship and moving up the ladder....or more importantly..a left to right movement...how else could a recycler survive so many ships

We fixed a bug that would not always PRINT the damage defended by the shields, correctly. I underlined print because it was still calculating it correctly and nothing has changed in the battle engine apart from the correct printing to the user.

In other news, the development team is really eager to input the new ship type so if you would like to increase the talks about a ship type, all the better. Or else we will take our own initiative taking in mind current proposals.

I like Istalris' idea best. Working in the HF is a very good idea.

A comment about how the RF is applied. I think a ship should randomly fire on another ship which it has a positive RF against first and once destroyed it should move on to another ship within the same RF category or (if all destroyed) move on to another ship that it has a positive RF against. As a previous poster stated...a recycler shouldn't have made it through that large encounter. As a modern day example I'd state that you wouldn't see an F/A-18 try to shoot down a helicopter on the battlefield if there were an ammo dump containing thousands of tons of ammunition that were it's primary target. The F/A-18 COULD shoot down the helicopter or blow up the ammo dump...the better long term move is to blow up the ammo dump.

I guess what I'm saying is that some form of prioritization is needed for all units in battle.
