Re: Fleet Saves?
#2Thee are no uninhabited planets, but you have the general idea.
Fleet saving is putting your resources on a fleet mission so they are relatively safe from attack until you can be online to use them.
There are several ways to perform a fleet save. You can send your resources towards another player's planet and then recall it before it gets there. You can send your resources to one of your colonies. Or, you can send your resources on a recycler mission to a debris field- effectively doubling your mission time.

Re: Fleet Saves?
#4Slash to do this wont you need to spend alot on small cargos so they can carry your resources then spend stuff on ships to defend them and them spend deut to send them away? This might seem stupid but wont it cost you loads to do this?
Re: Fleet Saves?
#5A saving fleet doesn't need protection- it is its own protection.
Small cargos are all that is needed to send your fleet save to another one of your colonies or to an inactive planet (i) (providing the inactive planet has no defenses or fleet). Once you get recyclers, you can send your fleet to a debris field, effectively doubling your fleet save time (time there + time back). You don't need any other techs except those used to buld the small cargos. You don't need a protecting fleet since there are no moons (yet) to phalanx your actions.
Large Cargos and Recyclers can carry a lot of resource- much more than a small cargo. So it won't be long before you can skip building small cargo ships altogether.
And as far as "costs"- how much is it going to cost you not to fleet save? How about all of your porduction?

Re: Fleet Saves?
#6If you know you wont be online for a while setting the fleet speed to 10% will be pretty effective if i am correct?

When people ask me plz because it's shorter than please, i feel inclined to respond no because it's shorter than yes...
Re: Fleet Saves?
#7That's correct. You can also target a debris field or an inactive planet much farther away to increase your deploy or harvest times.
