Which server to play on?
#1I started on Massacre but it seems kinda.. inactive. Should I restart on a different server or keep playing?

#2Some like Xtreme, I prefer Standard, a lot of players in the forums seem to praise Speed quite a bit. It's a case of each to their own.
I would always suggest, for a completely new player the Standard server. It has one million point protection for new players, because fleet speeds are slower in comparison to the others, you normally have time to "get away" before you get hit.
But, as I said, it's each to their own. Pros and cons in all. Perhaps try each of them?

#3It depends what you want.
If you want to be able to gather lots of resources and have fast ships, Speed is your choice. But it's not really very competitive.
If you don't have much time to or aren't in a hurry, Standard. But the ships are low and deut is extremely scarce. In my opinion, it might be the fastest growing server. But that's just my guestimate.
If you want a challenge, then I would go with Extreme. It was the original. It's faster than standard, but slower than speed. Decent resources.
As for Massacre, I haven't played that one in a long time, so I don't know much about it.

I would disagree that Speed is not very competitive or that Xtreme is truly more competitive than Speed (the main difference is that the top players on X are much larger than on Speed)... However, right now, I think all of the servers could use some more activity. Mass is definitely the least active server, followed by Standard (though it seems to be growing, as others have noted), with Speed and Xtreme being somewhat more active. I would also encourage you to try a few servers and see what you like the best. Standard is much too slow for me, for instance.
