Whilst I don't mind and personally agree with having fleets hidden, there is the opportunity to do so. Otherwise, fleet points would show at all times, whether "In the air" or not. So, if your fleet is out whilst the game score resets, then going to v mode, that should also be hidden as well. It is unfair to have players who tactically hide their fleets points, for the need to go to v mode end up showing all their wares.

An option could be, show a players TOTAL score only. Do not have separate headings for individual scores such as research, fleets, building etc. Perhaps this could be an individuals choice as whether they "advertise" this, much the same as include in scoreboard option?

Personally speaking...
I got a couple things I would change for the player score listing, if I were to decide upon it. I'm not...

Ok, so fleetpoints show when in V...makes sense, cause currently, when fleet down, it gets checked in the count.
That fact alone is already odd, do i NOT count a factory if it is not producing? no...
Production on or off or at a certain percentage doesn't do anything for the count...it's what it is, I build it, I own it, I use it...or not, my choice...
Do I count a ship when it is flying? no...why? I build it, I own it, it is on mission for me, so why is it not counted?

So what I would change as an indicator for fleet up or down (which is really what we're looking for when checking the ranks) is a red/green indicator, next to the players name.

going to V, cause I need offline time for a couple days, is not a valid argument;
- if you were able to hide your fleet a full year round, isn't because you played 365 days, but because you know that you can FS for a week or more if you'd like!
a couple days would therefor be a non-argument to me...
going to V for a month or more, yeah, that's another thing completely!

the numbers in the ranking, really don't tell you much more then a vague indicator;
- 5 million tech...is that all in energy tech? or a high WSA? or maybe you went for speed and have insane impulse lvls?
- 10 million build...lvl 15 nanite anyone? or lvl 40 deut mines? or lvl 20 labs/ missile silo's/terraformer?
- gazillion fleet...all LF...or all RIP??
- Gooogle numbers in defense...again, plasmas or rocketlaunchers or maybe only ABM/IPM ??

point is...
You have to probe to know, yes 100k fleet vs 10 million fleet is rather obvious, but you still don't know what where?

So why the numbers and not just an icon for fleet down, you still need to find it and in V, you can't be probed.

Leave the progress counter as an overall number, cause right now a 99k player attacking a 80 k newbee with 2 million fleet is also not something I think the game designers intended to be the idea of the protection-lvl-count??
