Rather than turning one universe into a place that all players have to get along/fight and having to make bashing rules on top of noon protection why not make tiers. In theory you all start from a certain point level of 0. Once you grow in points let's say 100k points for now, you get put into a universe with slightly less inactives and other players of your point level. Every player can continue doing their own thing and once they hit 500k points they get put into a tier with even less inactives and more of the players in their point level. Then you continue going from there... The next tier up not only contains less inactives but also a smaller galaxy with less systems. So like 5 galaxies with 200 systems per galaxy....
So in theory there will be more warring daily for resources, the tiers will be more competitive since all players are at an equal level and closer to each other. You will keep the small players since they won't be taken out right away, you'll keep the medium players who grow slower than some because they can be in their own tier until they pass a certain point, and you keep larger players since they will have a tier to themselves to war it out or not grow.
You could even do this by separating up the galaxies rather than creating different universes to transfer them to. Like galaxies 1-4 with 500 systems will be big enough to contain the player base in theory and inactive deletion can be faster if there are no rubies. Then tier 2 will be galaxies 5 to 7 with 400 systems and less inactives, then tier 3 will be galaxies 8 to 9 with 300 systems with minimal inactives.
You can do a simple planet transfer with a randomized planet placer to put their planets either wherever or fit them into a spot where their current planets benefit them...whichever way works. Fleet points should have no effect on the tiers since it changes constantly so the tier should be based off of research, buildings and defense.
Feel free to tell me if this is bad or decent and add on.
Re: Universe tiers
#2The best thing you can do is merge ALL servers. But the logistics of this, differences in game play, sizes of galaxies, different options and speed etc. Probably undoable.
If it was possible, all the active players together. New meat for all to take advantage of. BUt how do you convert one players fleet in Speed or Standard to the equivalent in Massacre or Xtreme?

Re: Universe tiers
#3Keep the fleet sizes, each player gets their own bonus based on their universe? Players with speedy/fast universes get faster resource income... Players in slower universes get better WSA and defensive bonuses... Every player no matter the universe gets building queue and one free instabuild? A tutorial be created and if completed you get these bonuses and if uncompleted you get nothing except a fight against the best?
But the idea I stated above I was planning for each individual universe possibly although war would be a lot stronger and PvP would be much more encouraged if all universes were combined. There is one sweet spot of what could happen, we just have to find it.

Re: Universe tiers
#4It still wouldn't work out, too many variables. To get 1000 RIPs in Standard is infinitely more difficult and much harder work than in Speed/Xtreme. Also people play Standard because of the fleet speeds. Much harder to hit an active with fleet than it is elsewhere. But, much easier to evade in Standard than the other servers, swings and roundabouts.
Other things not mentioned have to be taken into account also.

#5But I see the point you're making. There are many good ideas that could be implemented. Somethings have been agreed previously, not been implemented. For all the discussion, little gets done for all the ideas banded about. Annoying.
But, in addition there is a case of you can't please all the people all the time, agreed. I just wish things that HAVE been agreed would have been implemented.

Re: Universe tiers
#6Merging Universes is not a good idea and I don't want that to happen. I play Extreme for a reason. It has unique qualities that other Universes don't have. Others choose different Universes for the same reason.
There has got to be a way to increase new players, but we shall see what happens.

Re: Universe tiers
#7I agree with you Togard. We play our favourites because we want to.
The merging idea was a last case scenario. Rather than see a game fail, if it was the only option was the idea.
However, there is no real way that you could fairly match players from each server up. You would have winners and losers.

Re: Universe tiers
#8Well, I'd hate for servers to merge.. I'm quitting two of the servers for personal reasons and I don't wanna deal with the same stuff on xtreme. XP
