Ruby comp

#1
Have to say that I find the ruby results ( although to be ratified by Zorg) a little off.....

For example, in Extreme it seems any combat report listed qualified regardless of TD......AZGD and (maybe other alliances) could have racked up scores of hits and posted TD of over just 10million....like myself, they weren't posted (deemed to low maybe)......so maybe a little unfair????

Certain people will dispute this, fair enough....it's an opinion......but you get my point I am sure....

Same as all the irrelevant 1-5 word posts just to boost numbers....This was not the idea ....the idea was to make forums more active, not fill them with trivial chit chat (there is Zorg chat for this very thing!!!)......there was a large amount of relevant, important posts that were over looked. Was predictable this would happen and certain alliances proved this on the first day and onwards.

I would prefer a ruby contest for game ideas that are implemented for example.....

Maybe even a lottery once a week for people who log into forums once a day....gives everyone a chance then...at least the forums will be active in that respect...

I am sure others have ideas, so feel free to add below :)

you know you guys coulda joined in too right :P

I agree with the lottery but im not sure whether it would be practical to add in a requirement of one on topic post or not, otherwise you might get a lot of people who only log in just because, without doing anything

perhaps a (second?) lottery in server that gives smaller players above a certain low threshold (to encourage activity and growth ingame) a chance to win rubies. Not a huge amount but something. Perhaps there could be various ways to increase your chances, such as proportional increase in score (counting the highest score over one/week/ w/e), raiding (since that seems to be the favored path of most really active players). Overall the balance would be slightly tipped towards the weaker players, as the bigger ones already often buy rubies, but more importantly perhaps, don't need them as much. I don't know how many people can't buy rubies for various rubies, but it might encourage activity in the lower score sections.
RL has been a b****. maybe for once I can stay around long enough to make a name for myself...

Some of us did join in to a certain degree.....just didn't think we could literally throw in every c/r above 10 million lol....Also, I meant just by logging into forums everyday for a week means u get a chance to win rubies .....would prefer that than just giving them the to same players who get top raider/attacker ever single week..... It's more about forum activity and giving players who don't buy rubies a chance to get them aswell.....but keep the ideas coming

ruby payment for an idea that has been or will be implemented?
i second that thought!

good thing about that is it will benefit both the forum and the game;
is on topic and with content to the point, not just bogus posts and an implemented idea evolves the game...

note that rubies for ideas may bring rise to disputes over who really proposed the idea and/or who really contributed to the idea growing into what it became.
I'd suggest rather than JUST logging into the forums require some token action (a post, reading a few threads) before entering that user into the ruby draw.

some token action? Lol.....that's the problem....pointless posts to boost creds....we all know the culprits...and exactly what did those posts bring to the game? Nothing!!! We want posts that are relevant to the game....worthy of attention....beneficial to all......u get the idea right? ;)

I know, but I'm just making the point that just logging in doesn't necessarily do anything for activity :P

Edit:Sorry if this breaks some rule about profanities

a dispute about who came up with the idea in the first place?
simple solution, first post gets it...

same as with a patent bureau...
doesn't matter if you discussed it before anyone else, you have to be the first to register the idea, period!
and when proposal is posted , item gets locked, no unnecessary discussion...
Zorg can then select what they like and/or put up a voting item to see if it gets the player base backing.
doesn't seem too hard to do and could be productive, but hey, what do i know?
:p

For the record, the combat report tokens were like 4 for the one who collected the most and it was Gozar. While the winner managed to collect 3 tokens from there out of a total of 88.

Thanks for clarifying....although I still stand by what I stated in first post.....too many irrelevant posts by people who can't string more than a few words together ....good to see forum activity up....but at what cost.....It's all about the quality of the posts not just sheer volume of posts .....now I'll wait till another poster obscures this one ...again :D
