On a more important note: stop whatever anime you're watching right now. Cliffhanger, plot buster, I don't care. Stop.

If you've ever read the novel "Moribito: The Guardian of the Sacred Spirit" or "Moribito: The Guardian of the Darkness"...you should know...they made an animated series. 26 episodes of the best, most beautiful and artistically well-done, lively art I've ever seen on an anime. I've never outwardly said anything like that before. It's unbeatable. The score is amazing - really makes you fall into it. The characters are bond-able from the get-go. You already feel like you know them and are rooting for them. When they hurt, you hurt. When they cry, you cry (unless you're like me and lack a human soul).

The story? Don't even get me started. I've re-watched the first 13 episodes in 2 days, and you all know how busy I am. I stayed up til 5am - despite having to open at work in the morning - before I realized how entranced I was. I first saw this show 2 years ago, but I recently saw a picture of it on some ad and then I remembered it. You will thank me...


Best things:
-The art (colorful, beautiful, breathtakingly original with no cliches)

-The music (intense and perfectly fitting. there when you need it, not when you don't)

-The action (the most detailed, spotless, and complex process I've seen while still being able to recall everything that just happened within the short period of butt-whooping)

-The characters (you already care for them by the end of the first episode, especially the lead)

-The story (better than most big, blockbuster films. it grabs you and pulls you right in from the first minute. incredible twists, always a cliff-hanger. you won't be able to stop watching)



If you don't mind reading subs, the japanese version is a bit better (not by a ton, but better feel for 2 specific characters). Here's the first episode to get you started.
