Expansion Technology - Increase Planets Colonized

#1
Over the last year, there has been talk about increasing the number of planets, or increasing the cap on colonization. I have a simple suggestion regarding this discussion. I welcome any feedback or modifications to this suggestion. ;)

Expansion Technology
This technology allows Empires to increase the number of planets they can colonize. With each level of Expansion Technology you can colonize an additional planet.

Requirements:
Zorg Physics Level 10
Expedition Technology Level 10
Research Lab Level 18

Cost:
Metal: 4,000,000
Crystal: 2,000,000
Deuterium: 1,000,000

nothing to say torgard
idea is great
also you should add that every 2 level you can colonize one more planet
not just by each level
also there should be limit max 20 levels or 30 or 40. not anymore above
why top big guys like us will build 40 planets let say 40 in1 month or 2.

but again even if is aproved it i will take long time until is implaneted
a like this idea because is new tech

This seems like it would benefit the well established players overly much as we could very quickly get a bunch of new colonies and is therefore a substantial new competitive advantage over newer players. Many players already despair of ever being able to catch up to the top ranks and I see this as making it worse.

I agree, it would be a fair addition to a new server perhaps.

In a new server, perhaps a new building could be introduced The Imperial College. This would become a prereq for colony ships, and the number of colonies you could have (not counting your starting planet) would be equal to the level of your Imperial College.
