Interplanetary missiles

#1
Sorry if this was already posted somewhere, but could not find it.....

Purely hypothetical,

1st Attack: A planet on 15:125:18 fires a Interplanetary missile towards 15:420:12 which has 25 Light Lasers.

2nd Attack: Now, the same planet, 15:125:18 fires as well a Interplanetary missile towards 08:366:17 which has also 25 Light Lasers.

Q: Does the 2nd attack has the same impact (damage) as the first attack?

P.S. What is the speed from those missiles and does it come up on the Fleet screen?

Speed I'm not entirely sure about but it does appear on the fleet screen and it's based on Impulse Engine. I know your numbers are hypothetical so I'm sure you know range is extremely limited and cannot cross galaxies.

In answer to your question; possibly. The impact of missiles is based on your weapons tech (for their damage) and your target's armour tech (for the "health" of their defense units). So if both your targets had the same armour tech, you would do the same damage. But if one target had higher armour tech, they would take less damage overall. I doubt you would notice any differences if there is only 25 LL though.

Thanks for the answer, it does help me.
Ok, the 25 LL is of course a lot higher in the 'real' situation. 8-)

That means that I have to change my strategy, if I can not cross Galaxy's.
But I will work on that one....

and try it out in BIG numbers then.

Thanks for that.

Probably, I never read anywhere about it either so their speed is probably just a constant. Although they'd have to be pretty damn fast to get anywhere without any engine upgrades, do they even have a speed listed?

Only the defender gets a message, one of the many annoyances that they could easily fix but yet haven't. The only way to see the damage you caused is to probe after the missile hit and compare it to an earlier probe report.

Weresloth did a test last night and said that the speed is slightly slower than a probe in-system. So that should translate to pretty fast overall.
