Usual probe and launch......sim in Massacre is laughable .... Huge fleet needed nowadays to crash a fleet a fraction of the size .....not ideal for smaller fleeters.....mixed fleets work better but with obvious risks..

Yeah, I've said it before and have to agree; certain features of the current Mass BE (no lunar stack, differences in the RF formula, etc) make it very difficult to get a clean hit unless the power and size of your fleet far and away exceeds your opponent's. Sending a mixed fleet can compensate to a small degree, but the risk is greater and the benefit is minimal if RIPs are not included in the attacking fleet (and sending RIPs is impractical in most instances for obvious reasons). Though some might see this as an asset, as their own fleets are harder to profitably crash, it also creates an impediment to the competitiveness of small to middling fleeters.
