i think we better check on some statistics here around...
Building Ranking (representing miners)
2 Four Horsemen 4 39.990.417 9.997.604
Check the average, 2nd highest in the alliance pool.
Defense Ranking (Representing Turtles)
8 Four Horsemen 4 5.469.960 1.367.490
Check the average, 5th highest in the alliance pool.
Now if that is the case Fleeting alone cant go on for ever.
The game play style is there to suit our own time frame of playing the game, and the players that we play the game with as it is mentioned you have to have trusted allies to pool of play like Big Time Ninja's.
If i am not mistaken, Turtle's are solo players even if they are in alliance or not.
For miners well lots of players in this game who are here like to build up mines only based on their daily mine productions. I know i am doing this right now (not that i want to do it forever, personal limitations). The point is ppl like that exist in game, and that is personal choice of game play. If it is available ingame and can be done no one should point out how to play the game. Apart from that, ofc fleeters are at the top ( ? ) not everywhere tho, but fun part is very personal.
Lets try to respect each others game play and crash the hell out of each other if that comes to it. I have been crashed already a few times and were not small ones, but hey i am still here playing and having fun, isnt that the key no matter what have fun?

#32Have to just say thanks to all the well-wishers and PMs I have gotten. To be honest I had tried to quit because of RL a dozen times and never could. I was getting very close to being able to UNTIL getting nailed to the wall there by Myr. Can't go until there is an over a bil hit of me on one of the best!
As for other people's opinions, yes Gumps, I have been VM a lot, but personally I think going into the fleet mentality and back out makes it harder rather than easier. I never VMd to save my fleet, never would. If you are caught with your pants down you take the shot and get back up. RL forced ALL of my vms. As for Righteous' comments, when I got in with res halved of what I had I knew what had happened, even though I was tired. I hoped for two things, one that I did enough damage for a number two, and the other was that you were the guy to pull the trigger. For people that are not RL friends or mates in game, you have the most respect of any fleeter out there from me. Thanks for the post on there mate and I truly had fun when the opportunities arrived to work together.
@Myr, hope you put that res into use and I hope we get a proper battle engine for you. On a correct engine, your diversified fleet will become even more deadly. In a proper BE, you could have gotten me without the RIPs, but at a 3b cost or so into the DF from you as well! THAT my friends, shows a sexy fleet.
@Manede. I already PMd you one of these, but congratulations on that ninja on here as well! Even enemies can accidentally help each other. I don't think you made as big a profit as intended, but enjoy that as well.
To everyone else here, I hope that this hit does not discourage making a fleet. If you do not go up against the best in the game, why play? Even after I ever get myself into going (not yet btw, still have a lot of things to get ), I would check in. The people from here, best people, best enemies and the best friends ever in a game. Out of everyone in the game, the number of people I dislike can be counted on one hand. Still if anyone needs any advice on anything, I am all for it. It is never too late to fleet people, no matter what your past is. Let's remember I use to be one of the top 30 turtles in the game! Then grew up to being one of the biggest fleets ever and had fun the whole way and have a lot more left. Go all or nothing IMO, big risk = big fun
And Myrsee, I cannot stand "Knocked Down" anymore, every time I hear it I think of you bending my pixelated fleet over to slide a battleship into my defense , and if you want to think about exactly what I looked like, picture a guy w long hair looking like Medusa after a bad sleep, drooling all over his keyboard! I think I could have gotten more of the df if I hadn't had to wipe the keyboard first! I only made off with about 600kk of that deris lol, me thinks someone else got a big profit out of this too! Manede, you get that one too?
How about that one for a rant!

#33I was going to comment on this thread again, but now the "wall o' text" trend has taken hold, and I was never very good at that, but here we go.
Well, I'm a miner. And I enjoy it. I understand that fleeting can be more profitable if done correctly, and that the adrenaline rush of a crash would be awesome. But, my hectic RL prevents me from playing consistently enough to effectively fleet. That, and I've got the work ethic of a Sloth. Or almost, anyway. My favorite quote lately, "To each his own." I applaud all those who can effectively fleet, all the more so because it is very difficult for me. But anyway, this is my knee-high wall of text. Be careful, or I'll hit you in the shins
Once again, great hit myrsee. Can't wait to have you back, Kick.

#35This is what this game is all about.. See how many comments have been made how many players are still active.. Hits like this (and there will be more ) are what brings us all together..
Sadly kick, due to the fact that I spoke to you not more than 4hrs (including famines 3hrs flight time) before this went down, I tend not to probe m8's to often. So Famine got in there 1st, seeing as you where only 25 systems from me.. maybe I should have knowing what went on before. but as long as you are with it all, then the game is so much better.
Congrats again Famine.. fast rebuild kick

#36Well Kick, I could have gone through life without the visual of a hippy looking like a Saint Bernard. But you gave it to me anyway.
As for the content of my fleet and the battle engine. I started working on a versatile fleet back when the second battle engine came out. I had the goal of 100k of every ship class. This would allow me to to be able to use the best combination for the battle that would lie ahead. And I am only 30k destroyers and battlecruisers from reaching that goal. With the exception of rips.
But everyone is right, play the game that suits your style and what you can commit to the game. I can respect anyone's gameplay as long as it is within the rules and can be done by anyone. What I am most impressed with, is that almost everyone is playing smarter these days. Makes the larger hits more rare and more rewarding. I knew when I saw Kick on the ground, that this was an opportunity that was just not going to be around all the time. And that makes the game so enjoyable. The interactions and the strategies (like giving all your alliance mates numbers instead of names) and the rare mistakes by talented players. Now I could very easily take credit for this hit, but I believe all the credit should go to Kick. How ever you came up in the rankings, you did it honorably! You have been hunted for months by several players. And it was just a strange chain of events that led to this.

#39Oh, yeah. Where are my manners? Congratz, mersee.
And I didn't say the name change was bad. I lol every time I log on to see the 20-60 circs I've missed. It's pretty hard to remember who's who when reading, but who cares?

#40I wasn't saying anything about "idiots", just the number thing is amusing. Makes it harder to hunt individuals. Oh well! What the he77, idiot1 or idiot22, you all taste the same.lol Except for idiot 5, I hear he has a bitter taste, too much salt in his diet.lol
