Here is part of an email from ZE Admin after I queried this a couple of days ago:

Hi,

"There are no official switches on this account. If a switch was made after the switch rule, then it is an illegal one."

I don't see any "notification" of changes to the account there -- maybe this is within the rules though?

As for the attack, Silence left the alliance before attacking. However, this becomes a moot point. I mean, it's a no-brainer that you set up an attack, take a quick squiz at the online status of a player (you would already know this from long months of observation anyway), and leave the alliance and attack. Technically that's OK. Like I said on page one, at Pearl Harbour, war was declared, it's just that the attack came first brought about by a slow typist.

As always, people will form their own opinions.

There was no illegal switching made We were very careful to make sure that was the case, and as far as I am aware the switch was made well before any amendments were made to the rule. Look at the times I left the alliance and the hit on Phoenixuk, there is around 5 hours between them.

Looking at the scoreboard we can surely say he wasnt in VN when the attack hit, but that doesnt change anything, it does?

Why go V now .....things were just about to get interesting.

You can't really call it a backstabbing then because PhoneixUK had several hours to move his fleet, and he was the one who left it down in the first place. Yeah silence could have looked at the alliance activity list, but given that he wasn't in VN when the attack hit, silence was at just as much risk of losing his own fleet.

Ok i'm sorry everyone. Silence isnt a backstabber, but IF one day he joined your alliance, make sure he dont find out your offline times or other things... Cause then you have to ask him about every target you pick and make sure they arent one of his friends.

I will grant you that it was cold to hit so soon after leaving but that is the game. It was down, simple as that. I let all the other VN players who leave fleet down all the time (Did I give that away?) go... Took just the one.

So after this attack you came back? how long after? when was admin not'd?
Did you inform your alliance friends that you had changed ownership?

Yes, we all understand this but when did we start dealing with Salem and how many times how we been dealing with Salem?

I point all this out because this has the potential to open a large can of worms for other accounts. I open an account.. give it to a 'friend' and open another account. but we switch if and when we like.

Ok, its passed but Admin..
the whole server is angry with this.. maybe for the first time you need in depth explanations to us the players or it will cause a ripple effect with others having 'friends'......

Sorry I can see where people go confused. I am using the forum account. There are no rules around that one, and Silence still maintains use of the account I was simply in the room when that hit was made, just giving advice and such. Well room is a loose term, it was at the university, in the mathematics block.
If there is a rule against that, I am missing it?
