Ari (MOC) vs. Scull (LSD) – TD 96.567.000

Okay, so yesterday I was wandering around, raiding, collecting res, building mines, and generally minding my own business when I decided to check out the rankings just to make sure all the fleets were where they should be… of course they were not. *DUHN DUHHN DUHHHNN!* But I chose to ignore the 1.3 million FP that Torgard/Parrot/Idontknowwhotheheckiswhoanymore had let slip and scrolled down to the five-digit range… I noticed Scull with about 40K, and remembering how conveniently neighborly we are at a few points, while also recalling that he had ought to be asleep around this time, I decided to poke around. The second globe I probed yielded 18 EC, a few thousand probes, and a few thousand sats… now I’m not much of an attacker. In fact, I’ve never really hit fleet (well, omitting my close friend from the United Kingdom (no, not you, Gozar)) but I thought I should go for it, seeing as how it was a fast hit and I’d really like to get my attack/defend stats up at some point, because, I realize that they are crap… #ThanksG. So. Sim-ing time. Simulating the attack brought to my attention another sad fact: my fleet is predominantly Elite Cargoes. And Probes. (because, yeah, I got those moonshot stats, and that is definitely where ALL of my damage suffered has come from. Definitely.) Now I had to figure out what to build to get through all those annoying light lasers Scull likes to keep around… decided on a mix, adding some BCs and Bombers to my fleet. Right after pressing build on those I realized that they were stuck behind four, let’s count em, four, hours of Elite Recyclers building (for all the kids out there: remember to upgrade your nanites). So then I wait around for those four hours, finally jump my fleet to the right location right as I’m about to doze off, and probe to make sure Scull hadn’t moved anything around: yep, check! I send out some shiny new mops, wait a while, and attack!
Five seconds later he PMs me. I recall, fleetsave a bit angrily, and go to bed.

Alright. It’s only been four hundred words, and we’ve made it to today! Congrats folks, now let me explain how it really went down (the “really” is not to imply that the stuff I just said wasn’t true, more to say that things are really going down, hard, lol). So yep, I’m still chomping at the bit for an attack, so I check the rankings and see that, again, Scull has the EXACT same amount of fleet showing. I esp him, and there it is, right where I saw it last… how convenient. This time it was easy to send out what I had planned for last night, and there we go, some attack points for me, a bit of profit from the df, and more losses than I’d like, but not enough for me to be bother to build more ships. Anyway, I choose to think of the fleet I lost as me getting the added benefit of an opportunity to recycle some of the useless old ships in my fleet before G gobbles them up… again ;)

And, after so many words, here it is; not a exactly clean hit, but good enough for me :)
Oh, by the way, GLOTR Calvin, and please don’t be mad at me… I know you’re cooler than that.

I don't know why but I pictured Weresloth saying in a Finding Nemo Shark voice, "Nanites are friends, not food."

Well good for you Ari. ^_^ You went for it and tried your hand at novel writing.

GLOTR Scull.
