Stargate Galactic Declares War on Phoenix Legends

A while back, Hannah and Lord Dragon formed an independent alliance and declared war on the SGA. There wasn’t much to it and though they surrendered no one considered anyone a real winner. I’m not sure there was a single attack. Later, the Phoenix Legends as a whole declared war on us. Again, it was a farce. We managed to accidentally disband ourselves so officially it was a loss for us, but not much of a contest. Along the way we’ve butted heads with some of the PL members. Mostly it’s been fairly sporting and nothing personal. There is a notable exception, but I’m pretty sure I’m not allowed to talk about that here. So that’s the history. The now, is that we received word from Pein a few days ago that they wanted another war.
We talked a bit about terms, but it’s clear they were not going to be in our favor. In my opinion, they’re downright lopsided. So what to do, what to do . . . . hmmmm. I know!
The SGA declares war on PL.
Terms –
The victor is the alliance with the most damage inflicted on the other at the end of 45 days. Let’s call it 4:00 server time on May 24th.
Only CR’s containing detroyed fleet count, this excludes sats and probes. However, if even a single small cargo or other ship is present the entire CR counts.
We will not be the first to pop moons.
We will use nukes, we like them. However, as they do not produce a cr, they do not count for points.
Mercs are allowed to join, but must of course declare for their crs to count.
Obviously either side may surrender and, per game rules, mass vacation modes will result in automatic defeat.
Detailed CR’s will be made available to one another’s command staff on request.

That’s about it except for the usual bit about, “Let’s have some fun, be good sports and all that.” I respect Pein. I also respect most of his members. I hope this war is a good robust challenge and inspires us all to be better players and people.
I don’t like war. It encourages weak members to be driven out of the game. It calls to the hunters to not only hunt, but to kill and kill again. It stunts growth and distracts from my own goals within the game. In three years of leading alliances in various games, this is the first one I’ve declared. It’s the first one any leader of the SGA has. It’s a sad day, but it is an action I must take or be faced with war anyway, one with unacceptable terms.
So, let’s have some fun and all be good sports. Bashing rules are lifted in twenty-four
hours. The thread for cr’s will be open by the time you read this. Let’s fill it up.
