It is very simple. If you don't agree with the leadership...LEAVE.

Those players can do what some of the MEMEL players did, which is start their own alliance or a splinter alliance. Complaining privately and putting up with it publicly is at the very least weak and cowardly.
Rome was formed not because of a disagreement of ethics, but because we kicked memals a**! Okay, well, Slash did anyway. ( I was in A~O at that time, thats why I said we)

I disagree. There a more variables to take into account. Obviously the members in the alliance that they're in are (most of the time) weaker than the leader. Who wouldn't be scared of being killed once you leave the alliance; especially at a time like this? Plus, some may feel like they're "betraying" their fellow members, and betraying NEVER feels good, even if you know it's what's best for you.

It is only a game. Betraying your principles because of fear of stronger players is cowardice. I rode solo for a long time, so I have NO sympathy for those hiding behind an alliance tag or fearing the consequences of following their principles at the expense of some measly ships or res.

Betraying never feels good. So why would one secretly make pacts and covertly act against their own alliance in a way that clearly compromises their goals? Weakness.

If you fleetsave and play smart you can keep your fleet safe for long stretches of time. If you don't, there are enough predators that will take it down anyway. No need to lose your integrity too.

@Khan, gales post is exactly why the members I mentioned have asked quietly to be left out of it. After spying their planets and launching raids theyve pretty much said they dont want the war, but they feel like they earn Dacias reputation for backstabbing if they do leave their friends. They dont like the decision that got them into this war, some of them arent even aware of it (And people say AZG has no teamwork...at least we know whats going on!) one guy asked me why I was breaking the NAP!
Overall it seems they like Dacian1s leadership, but disagree with this decision (Theres some hate for plainstrider over there too :) ) but dont feel justified in leaving Dacia and abandoning their friends and turning their back on leadership they have long respected. Dacian1 had his reasons for declaring war on us. Good ones perhaps, but not RIGHT ones. Hes tried to do whats best for his alliance and it has backfired traumatically. AZG players who were considering leaving the game or just AZG itself after the V war after our frank impotence and inability to effectively combat V are feeling rejuvenated and warring on Dacia as best they can. I wouldnt be surprised if AZG fleet size has doubled in the last week! Anubis, demon and defiant with minor support from other players have nearly completely cleaned out Dacian defences in g3. Even our weaker and inexperienced players have been creating some respectable DFs too :)
V taught us to FS and defend ourselves.
Dacia is providing us with the chance to learn to work together (The ACS ninja vs. logged for example, as well as shared reports and nuke partied [loved defs silo message...actually laughed] and the like) and how to effectively strike back.
We wont equal the TD we took from V, we may not even replenish half of it.
But after this war, if ACS attack ever comes out, there will come a reckoning ;)

We may not win but I for one will have a hell of alot of fun :D

In the meantime, I gotta crash. But with three days before my next exam, I think I can find some time to launch some more raids ;) My recyclers hunger, and clamour for more friends (I really need more than 100...)

I understand your point RogueSpear. I just don't agree with it.

There is a big difference between taking on ~V~ with all the Apex Predators we have and taking on Dacia. In a way, it has helped AZG become much stronger. The weak were culled from the pack and those that stayed learned to communicate and Fleet save more effectively. I think Dacia expected to finish the job, but instead they are finding a rejuvenated AZG who faces them with no fear, having already faced some of the best the game has to offer.

Yep, I am malicious. Not in this case though. Just speaking the truth, which can cut to the bone as efficiently as any surgeon's scalpel.
