The Motivation? The Rationale? The Concerns?

Now, for the Grand Master himself.
I spoke (very) briefly with RJS a few days ago.
He's not the demon people make him out to be, but I do have some concerns about his motivations, and those of his alliance.
Firstly, the whole idea of dominating the "nOOb" Server. What does it mean? Why is the master bothered to be there?
1. The Standard Server is held in contempt by RJ, Kick, et alia.
2. They feel, nevertheless, the need to cause a ruckus.
3. RJ tries on his own and gets his *** busted.
4. Revenge! He thinks! I must have REVENGE!
....and that's all that motivates them...
The pronouncments that they're "improving the gamer standard" or "making it more fun" is just complete rubbish, as anyone can appreciate.
Where, for instance, is the "skill" in spending rubies to buy planets and fleet and set up in a hurry?
There is none.
I do that too.
It's OK by me and it's in the mechanism of the game!
However, let's not pretend I needed any "game skills" to do it, or any patience either.
Let's not pat RJ on the back for spending rubies either.
He wouldn't want that, I'm sure.
Then, there's the matter of taking down all those "nOOb" fleets.
What "skill" that must have taken for a master of the game !!
RJ and Kick have already touted their admittedly prodigious skills (nobody else will do that for them much), so they have to,
and I'll be one of the first to say RJ is a legend in this game.
I told him that.
I meant it.
However, why is it that a "legend", (in some respects), needs to re-inforce his superiority by stomping on the ants? This is a bit of a worry.
I can only imagine that it's because he is hell bent on revenge and sees players beneath him only as a means to an end. ( see Emmanuel Kant, if you're worried on that front )
It is unlikely that the "gamer standard" has been improved or will be improved by declaring war on any or all alliances in Standard.
It is more likely that people will leave and not return. Webmaster, please note, that's a drop in income for you if it goes on long enough.
The majority of well balanced personalities (not me) won't come back )
The game is not "more fun" under these conditions as Kick proposes. Quite the contrary. The "guns" come in, buy planets, wipe out fleets, climb the ladder and then everyone, and I mean EVERYONE starts to Fleet Save.
Jeez, is there ANYTHING more BORING than Fleet Saving !! If it's done at random, you'll never work it out. You'll have a few lucky guesses, I suppose, if you stay up all night, have no life, and monitor all comings and goings. That's BORING too, but for the dedicated few; with nothing better to do with themselves, I guess. Oh well, keeps them off the streets at night
So, at the end, when you stand triumphant amidst the rubble and junk and feed off the odd passing bit of carrion, what's left?
...for he's a jolly good fellow...and so say ...??
