Re: TRAITOR ALERT: Trinda
#28Ya see, that's what irritates me about a lot of gamers today. They blow off issues like this because it's "just a game". They believe it simply doesn't matter because it's not real and therefore any actions should have no consequences.
But the truth is that in real life, no matter who you are or what your status in life is you are always putting up a false front to those around you. You smile and say a cheery "Hello" to strangers. You put on your best face around others and do things to be socially acceptable. You go out of your way for a joke or to make a point that a lot of times you don't really feel like doing but you worry what others will think.
Here, in the virtual world, you have a chance to actually be yourself. With few exceptions seldom does anyone know you in real life. You can be you.
That's where the rub comes in. That's what I have a problem with. It seems like very few hold any idea about the concepts of honesty, integrity, loyalty, and especially, sportsmanship. Very few have values any more.
Trinda see's no issue with this. He (and the others in this thread that support him) feels that it's perfectly okay to join a community that is entirely based on blind trust and then promptly violate that trust out of petty vengeance. It lacked integrity. It lacked honesty. It lacked any form of loyalty. When you join an alliance you are joining a community of online friends and by doing so you are swearing an allegiance to that community. Regardless of your past actions, if you are accepted into the alliance it means your past actions are forgiven and forgotten.
Alliance members help each other out. Alliances support members through the individual's successes and failures. That there are people that would just say "it's just a game" and condone being a traitor under any circumstances shows such an incredible lack of character.
Anything worth doing is worth doing right. In a game its called sportsmanship. You either have it or you don't. You either get it or you don't.

Re: TRAITOR ALERT: Trinda
#29I agree whole heartedly, but what i can't stand is you defending a hit 'n' hide form of an attack,
The following fleets faced Wed, 25 Feb 2009 07:38:04 -0700 :
Attacker caspertheghost [??????]
Weapons: 90 % Shields: 60 % Armor: 90 %
Type L. Cargo. B.ship
Number 30 10
Weapon 9 2.014
Shield 55 407
Armour 2.400 9.600
Defender Trinda [????]
Weapons: 80 % Shields: 90 % Armor: 90 %
Type Ion Cannon S. Shield Dome
Number 5 1
Weapon 221 2
Shield 979 4.560
Armour 1.425 3.800
At that date Trinda was in the ranks of RAWK whilst Casper was still in SEN, and as Istalris had also Joined RAWK Casper took the liberty to take advantage of attacking and then shortly joining RAWK to make sure trinda could not retaliate.
You talk about loyalty and friendship, yer it's a more enjoyable experiance when playing a game, but at the moment nor Casper or trinda are showing them, i would just leave em to their own to battle it out.
Do not stick up for Casper hes provoked it and if he can't handle it he shouldn't have provoked it in the first place, you don't give a kid a lolipop for telling an old lady to go **** themselves it's common sense.
