Most of the players like myself that are still around are not legends. Just quality players whom do the game for fun. The amount of legends that are playing right now you could count on one hand. Let's try for living ones... Gozar, PK, maybe Sloth for his forum accomplishments... any others that have made their status yet? No other ones that will be remembered in 5 years yet imo.

I am just giving you a hard time I like having you around

Anyway back on topic. Today's legends will be replaced by tomorrows legends, it is today's best players that will be tomorrows legends.

Those with nothing to loose have the most to gain. Long live the Miner!

Rejy's getting up there as well, to legend status...just for being popular. Being a legend doesn't necessarily mean being one of the best players. As Kick said, WS'll be one for the forums.

I always believed that the top is a place that few can handle for a long time. The primary reason for this is that most, after some time, lose a bit of interest (or fail to adapt to new reality) and as a result other players start catching them up. When this happens, the retirement countdown clock starts for the player in top. It is nearly impossible to see someone who has been in the top, settling down with another position (in this cases, retirement or restarting is the option with the most usual being retirement first and restarting later).

The second element I would like to add, is that the game now has zero loopholes. Any loophole found can be easily detected and can be closed in no matter. Who can tell me that previous top players, like Mintaka for example, who left after the first-second month would last any chance now ? (Again, I am not telling he was cheating; In contrary I remember him as a fair player - I am just giving an example)

With these top two reasons in mind, I find it unfair to claim that Gozar or RJsturgill or GenWickedDeez or Trox (just took the current top5 in X-TREME) are not as good as Mintaka or SquirelOnCrack or gummpy. Sure anyone can have in mind the player they think as better and certainly it counts that the latest achieved TOP rank first. However, I will play the devils advocate and will state that the game passes through many stages; As you progress things change constantly and you always have to adjust to new data. Again, I am not telling that gummpy for example could not adapt to new situation. What I am telling is that there should be proper recognition for those that do.

The talk is about great players here and not much for Legends, so excuse me for hijacking the thread. I just felt necessary to speak this out.

Regarding Legends though, I have stated it before and will state it again: A Living Legend is always better than a dead(inactive) Legend.
