Vm while active

U can't Vmode unless ur completely inactive, u have no production going on, and no movement with fleets!

Karroths Idea:
You can enter VM whenever you want regarding activity, but if you have fleets in the air, you will not actually be IN VM until all your fleets land. As stated, if you're on FS or raiding or whatever, odds are your fleet will be safe anyway UNLESS you get lanxed, which is the reason fleeters wanted the exploit fixed.

If you send an attack mission and the player goes to vmode, the attack still lands.

i think he needs to vmode before the fleet launch.

It is a terrible part of the game, but considering players have been complaining about this since as far back as July 2009, I doubt complaining even more will have an effect.

Most of the time, there is something being built on my planets or my shipyard. Even my fleet is on the air for hours on FS.
I have a crappy ISP and sometimes I have to go out for a day on a very short notice. I loose 2 working days ingame but at least my fleet is safe.
I use my mobile phone as a last resort and just press the vmode button.
I'm sure there are others out there in a similar situation.

As for people caught on lanx, they expect an imminent attack so they probably push the button. Maybe a good fleeter can try some work around so that their attack won't be too obvious.

It's so frustrating.

If ur active u shud nt be allowed to vmode. Vmode is meant to be if u can't use ur account for a few days not because someone has ur fleet and u flea

Zorg surely this can change! If ur fully active, it shud be simple, u can't vmode!

Didnt u go vmode for three months? why would u go vmode if u think that is an exploit? dont use it at all, and then say lets throw away he feature.

the numero uno is in vmode. there are loads of ppl who can take on his inactive planets for ages. why dont you object on that?

Seems you always mis-understand the nature of the request and make a big deal out it. :wall:

This sounds like a reasonable request to me. The point is not to abolish the VM function.

The V-mode should not work if you have fleet in the air. You should not be able to V-mode when you have a fleet spot being used - meaning you have a mission going with a fleet.

This is the only game (of all the clone games out there) that allows a player to activate vacation when you have fleet on a mission or you are building mines, fleet or defenses.

It is being recommended that the V-Mode function be locked down so you cannot be building anything or have fleet using any of the fleet spots. As I said earlier, this request sounds reasonable

The amount of people that legitimately need to use Vacation Mode urgently while their fleet is in the air, far outweighs the number of people who want it abolished so they get more kills.

It is most likely for that reason (and why it has been in debate for over a year) that Zorg can't change it without upsetting even more people.

here are two scenarios for you then.

Scenario 1

Player A gets probed repeatedly by player B, spotting his fleet. Player B is very well capable of crashing down player A's fleet. And the eminent threat is on Player A. To make it more interesting, player A starts popping Player B's moons one after another. not that the fleet is on the move but to eliminate any possibility of fsing from a moon.

Now here is the situation on player B's part. He has no in bound or out bound fleet. on all planets there are no on going building activity, no ships are in the queue, no research is going on. But player B knows that the evident attack is coming in.

He hits the V-mode button.

Scenario 2

Player A has a R/L issues for which he will not be able to check on his fleet or game progress. So he hits V-mode.

Now please just dont ask for it, but before asking think what u are asking. Try to differentiate the above two scenarios.

As far as my understanding goes technically both are same scenario.

apart from the above technical limitations to simulate the conditions u are providing. attack the player before he could hit v-mode. if u cannot do that as neoshagrath pointed out, do not cry about it.

and i do not make issues. just dont like ppl asking whatever they feel like benefits them

I too was thinking about it the same way, you can never know what the true purpose is why somebody goes in VM.
Sometimes its legitimate and another time its not and because of that you can't check it.
