[Evaluation Needed]New building to change planet temperature

Looking at the formula for deut production, i see that temperature does play a significant role in deut production. Instead of abandoning a well-developed large planet which is too hot, what about having a building to alter the temperature of that planet? Perhaps eachh level of that building developed could raise or lower the max temperature of that planet by a few degrees and that building cannot be torn down.

I like the idea in theory but I don't think that anything that you do would be worthwhile unless this building only cost metal and crystal to build (which I find unlikely). You'd only be gaining 5-10k more deut per day - MAYBE - which after the first level (assuming that it has the same cost as like the terraformer) would mean that you'd be spending this cash to get next to no gain even in the long run.

well some people do need a deut production bump but why a whole new building why cant zorg add it as a function for the terraformer

Good point the terraformer should be able to affect planet wide temperatures. If it truly is a terraformer it should do that. But this will probably be the response from Zorg
because of how much data would be changing (there is already enough changing in the first place this might actually lag Zorg Empire out of existence but then again I don't know too much about the way the webz work.

That would just be a field in a database table, that isn't going to lag anything... Assuming they aren't running old P3 chips on the DB server(s).
However, usually the classic sci-fi goal of terraforming would be to put the planet in the "sweet spot" for habitation of life forms. Which means it would make your warmer planets cooler, and your cooler planets warmer.
While it may benefit warm planets, you might as well just colonize the colder planet slots to get cooler planets for deut production.
I could get behind some sort of "weather control station" though, something that we could change from time to time in the resources page. It could be adjusted to perhaps cool the planet for deut production by increasing the amt of cloud cover or water vapor in the atmosphere for higher deut production(uses energy to accomplish). Or it could be adjusted to have the opposite effect, more sun and warmth for planetary solar plants which would increase power output(uses deut to accomplish).
I do like the idea of being able to change your resource production on your colonies to suit different modes of game play or needs of the current situation. However, we often have people throwing cookie cutters at us!

This somehow makes a terraformer useful for planets with huge fields anyway.
I mean most planets I have are all above 300 fields.

Interesting idea here, could use some discussion and some specs. Bumpity bump?

As long as it can either raise or lower the temperature and not just one, I'm fine with it.

I was thinking maybe integrate it into the Terraformer, since no one with any sense needs to use the Terraformer anyway.
It could make the terraformer appear on the resource page with a drop down box that can change the temperature in 1*terra lvl c increments up to 5*terra lvl above and 5*terralvl below current temp?
Obviously if it hit the lowest possible temp it wouldn't go any further, not entirely sure if there is a highest temp..
EDIT - new specs.
