Now, I seem to remember a suggestion similar to this before, but I cannot find it anywhere.

The proposal. A Central Galactic Bank.

You can deposit your ill gotten gains there, how much is up to you. Being a bank your stuff is safe. (well, a few years ago it would have been!)

Whilst it is sat there it is earning a minimal interest. Say, .5% up to 100 million resources. Anything over that a nominal .2%.

A maximum account holding of say 1 billion in assorted resources.

It cannot be attacked or taken by any raider/fleeter.

To deposit an amount you have to travel to it with whatever ships you have available and whatever their capacities are. It could be listed like any other mission, attack, acs etc.

It's location could be slap bang in the middle of all the galaxies that each server has.

This would enable the smaller players to keep their stuff safer than the current way things are done.

Oky seems a little over the top ... I like it as it is now .... Learn . adapt . survive ...

While I'm going to with hold my personal opinion until more have posted what's the interest rate yearly monthly daily?

I don't know about APR's etc, but I thought those figures I quoted could be monthly. But they were just random figures off the top of my head. It needn't be anything, obviously a lot of players may make a deposit then go inactive. We wouldn't want that. I feel a lot wouldn't take advantage of it full stop. But for a new player, trying to save for the costs of say solar sats so they can do their graviton research. Instead of sitting on a pile of resources and having to fleetsave them away, then they could just chuck in the bank knowing that if they lost their fleets, they wouldn't lose all their resources to.

.05 and .02 is steep for new players it's more like a npc storage den. 1b metal would give 20m metal a month.

In what way steep? You mean that you pay for the storage?

I mean that the rate of gain is nearly nothing but now I've had time to think on it and realize it's for new players mainly.

+1 for me but just make it like the merchant with its own button bot planet and with no ruby fees. Make it take 1h of no movement of the res to take effect. (Prevent last second baiting.)
