NPC Planets

Some in my alliance have offered a suggestion that I thought sounded interesting:

Non player character planets: These could be well defended turtles containing prize resources that replenish their defences.

It is supposed to be War game, not raiding inactives and attacking NPC game...

A very similar game has this implementation.... i've played with this idea in action and for me it is a poor idea....

I oppose the suggestion,
With the game having a focus on player verses player reducing that focus could make the game less competitive and hence less fun

i disagree with the idea. ppl would attack the npcs instead of the players.

how bout having the NPCs part of an expedition...once beat there deleted and something like a black hole or the elusive abandoned ships...i think this would give better use for expiditions

+1 from me,
to those that don't want NPC planets, what if the quantity was simply based on the active player base (more players less npc's)? It gives people something to do during the quiet times on servers like standard.

Also I think it would be interesting if such NPC's could make attacks on players.


And just a note, if NPC's replaced some inactives then the potential non-active attacks should still go down. (In fact NPC's could simply take over maybe 1/10 deleted inactives, thus its harder to figure out who is an NPC and who is an active)
