Instead of randomly destroying ships have them fight a randomly generated fleet for the res. This way you will have to send escort with your cargoe and risk lost to get your res without it being totally random. You want more secure expedition increase the numbers of escort. To balance all of this increase deut cost to get to system 16.

Zorg I have a couple random ideas about the reasoning behind the differences in our tweaks.

As for timing.
People were complaining that getting resources from expeditions was not hard work.
I on the other hand felt differently considering buiding a mine is pretty much build it and forget it and resources pour in, no work involved.
Now to get resources from an expedition you actually have to do something, launching ships, but in compromise to the people who felt differently about it not being hard work I suggested the 15/30 minute format.
If the 15/30 minute format is too short of a time period in comparison to the max resource limit I would then suggest to adjust the max resource limit.

Max resource limit
The reason I feel that this limit should be based on individual player's planet production as opposed to the highest mine in the game format is because if you are a higher level player with higher mines then you probably have a bigger fleet and would have a higher upkeep.
Also if you are a higher level player and you put the time into raising your mine levels up then you deserve a higher payout then some nub.
If RJ raises his mines why do I deserve to make more too?

Just because the rate at which you lose ships now is very high, I really do not need to gain more ships i can build them with the resources and more pics just to even out the odds of reducing ship losses and gains.

And finally this was not in my original post but I still believe that all resources made from expeditions should automatically go to a sort of bank in which all resources must be spent in the shipyard with exception to 60% of the deuterium which may be withdrawn on a daily basis to fly your fleet.
This will ensure that any resources earned through an expedition will go into Player verse Player battles which would make ZE alot more fun to play.

- expedition time 1 hour only: this is because 2 hours are too easy. It's like launch and forget. 1 hour means more expeditions. More expeditions = More risk. More risk = More Fun.
- max resource = 1million per ship: not linked to highest producing planet, just a set amount - Must be PER SHIP so that people want to launch large fleets, rather than a single ship
- Reduced ship loss (10% for partial and 5% for complete - if 1 ship is sent, then it is destroyed even in partial, so chance is actually 15% there) can you clarify: is this 10% of overall chance or is it a 10% fleet loss when you find a Black Hole? - The reason i ask is i think partial loss should be 10% of fleet, just as when you find ships you gain 10%. nicely balanced.

1 Million Max Resource per ship is 90% reduced compared to old system.

launch 50 EC's (10 per slot x5)

Slot 1: Resources = +10 Million <--- Maximum Gain
Slot 2: Black Hole = -36.5 Million <-- Maximum Loss
Slot 3: Nothing
Slot 4: Nothing
Slot 5: Nothing

Obviously thats an unlucky wave, and hopefully you can recoup losses over next 2 waves but i just wanted to show you why higher resources need to be possible (1 Million per Ship: 333k Metal, 333k Crystal, 333k Deut)

Still in favour of a new expedition system, however i will hold my hands up and say i totally underestimated raiding. Now the expedition has been removed, i'm forced to start fleeting better and i'm actually having more fun :)

Just thought i'd be honest and hold me hands up to that personally seems as though i was one of the ones against the new tweaks and Zorg has had a pretty tough time of this. For that i appologize :)

Once we get sufficient approval of the tweaks proposed in first post, we will proceed with them. If anything more interesting is posted, it will be updated in the first post. Agreeing in the current vote is not only a vote for the tweaks to proceed but also a vote of confidence for the tweaking of expeditions.
