This is an awsome idea because space fighting games, do to the similarities between water and gravity, are naval games if you translate them back into modern day and planets are islands to which we use. We have destroyers (Real life destroyer,) Cruisers (Real life cruisers), Battle cruisers (same as cruisers I guess), Death Stars (Battle Ships) Light fighter, heavy fighters, and bombers, (all of our modern day jets and bombers), Recyclers (Scavengver ships) [Scavenger ships are ships that salage the wrecks of other ships for those who don't know], and espionage ships (satelites and such we use today) already in the game now. All we are missing is the best of the best in naval warfare, the carrier. I suggest adding to types of carriers. One regular and one super (Like today with regular carriers, Carriers like that of WW2 and super carriers like S.S George Bush). I believe if you add carriers, your light fighters should have the cargo capacity of 10 or 5 like the space probes so that they would become useless without carriers like modern day fighters. I also suggest adding a ship like a submarine similar to a bomber in nature, but it is super effective against the slower moving giant ships where as the bomber is super effective against ground defences. (Haven't thought about its stats because of lack of experience) The sumbarine probably a bad Idea b/c in large numbers, it could be deadly to a death star, but you could make it so it effective against everything but the Death Star do to the Death Star not taking the form of an actual ship like the cruiser.
