I do not personally see high levels of skill or gameplay very much involved in moving through two layers of GUIs to have access to the function you want. That's not gameplay. That's two mouse clicks instead of one.

No, this does not detract from the gameplay. Those who very much love maneuvering through these screens can continue to do so. To do the contrary hardly makes one less of a gamer. It's not who has the fastest mouse.

If that's playing the game, then (but of course for the ban on such things) the game could be played with scripts and subroutines. I can only see this enhancing the game. The gameplay involves actual human thought.

Trust me - a good bit of advice is to space your fleets out when attacking anyway. If you can't recall any fleet in time then that is your mistake.
i absolutely agree. this game is about timing. page flip is part of that timing.
