(as a continue/improvement to the idea of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8213)
Characteristics:
-Can be built on planets (Not moons)
-Can be built early on (Poor reuirements in tech but 1 extra than recyclers)
-Operation Costs: Perhaps 1 ruby + (100* (1.5^lvl) Deut per scan
-Works on a radius like Phalanx. At lvl 1, 30 systems away, lvl 2 60, lvl 3 90 etc, open for discussion. Example: If your planet is at 13, at lvl 1 it will scan from 1:70:3 to 1:130:3 ( a total of 60 systems).
-Galaxy limit, only able to scan within the galaxy where it has been built.
-Cost to build at lvl 1: 20 000 metal, 10 000 crystal, 3000 deuterium (like 2 recyclers - perhaps it can also include a ruby cost. If it includes a ruby cost, then it will not cosr any rubies to operate)
-Regarding its role, it is just making one feature of the game easy. It is already possible to scan manually the galaxy. We add a building for this which will also cost rubies to fund the game.
Open for discussion.
Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#2thanks zorg for my idea
but remove ruby usage because too many players dont have rubies or you can add in ZE plus swap trought galaxy for Df :cost of ruby 30 or 15

Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#4Ruby cost seems improbable eventually. Still an undecided feature anyway, I was just summarizing the previous thread into something more structured.
Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#5I don't like this idea. As fishpond already said in the previous thread, it's just a lazy way of finding DF that isn't yours.
It's not that i don't think players should steal DF from others, but i think they should at least earn it like the guy who did the fleet crash. And the ruby part is also rather unfair IMO.

if yer gonna be stupid ya gotta be tough

Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#7Seen as though Ive mentioned this idea in another thread perhaps should comment here too.My thoughts echo those of The's above so -1 from me sorry 8)

Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#8first and its new building
second df stealing can happend without this building
zorg make when you use swap trought galaxy it takes 5 000 deuterium or 50 000 deuterium its better

Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#9Was going to stick this as an Edit but bit long for that.
On further thinking..If it were to be implemented only fair these detectors should identify which planet it was returned to.I suppose if your picking up your DF handy it should never affect/effect (?) you there's always that,it's just the odd occasion when because of whatever your caught short, or am i missing something 8)...probably.
I suppose early on in the game beginners might find the little bits lying about worth it but not for long and theres always loads of it lying about so I don't think many bother with it anyway .People would have to make sure they have enough recs and most with the bigger fleets already do I would imagine,so even if it does come in it's not going to radically change anything so not that big a deal and "if" they can get ppl spending rubes, then that's got to be good for the game . So I suppose I'm retracting my -1 As I'm more of a 0.
Its evening here and i'm more "relaxed" now so different perspective.8)

Re: New Building: Debris Field Detector
#10How practical is this? Personally I wouldn't use it even if it only cost deuterium to operate. Large DF are rarely (I should say never) left unattended, and if you cannot see how long until the DF being collected, you will just waste your deuterium and time.
Moo...
