I was thinking of a way to combine fleets together (Your Flagship idea) the other day, but yours blows mine out of the water
Personally, I like it. The Flagship and Carrier both seem like a good way to improve the combat a bit.

#12The Flagship idea already exists in the form of ACS attack, it's just not been activated yet.
ACS Attack: "Allows a group of players to temporarily combine their fleets into a single fighting force to assault a target that may not have been possible to bring down by a player on their own."

#14I think thats a good idea and that the death star should be able to carry a MASSIVE fleet (just like on Star Wars) as well as the destroyers.

Do you know how strong Death Stars are right now? Add in Rapid-Fire and the ability to spit out tons of ships and they would be an absolute nightmare.

#17I like the idea but I think the carrier should be like an aircraft carrier goes not fight but acts as a base for ships. The ships can refuel and be carried on it go faster than if they were not on it. The carrier could travel the galaxy stopping at acs depos for fuel and attacking weaker people far away from where the ship took off. Like a traveling planet only without the mining

#18I love the carrier idea. I think it should give a small bonus to the survivability of fighters its carrying. Maybe something like repairing damage suffered between rounds. As for the flagship however, I believe ACS Attack is already planned.

#19Would it be worth it to have more than one type of carrier? Like heavy and light transport ships. It would be more efficient to send a few large carriers, but if one gets blown up, you lose more ships than if a couple small ones die.

#20you could just give a fuel reduction to fleets traveling with a DS to simulate them being transported and fueled by the ship,
LF go free but of coarse big fleets like destroyers would have to pay they're own way as they are to big to be landed on anything at all..
i dont mind guys spending lots on big fleets without firepower though i'll have to say, especially if they are slow and will make a nice big debris pile.. lol
if the carriers work like mobile bases where would you park them? on empty planet slots or moon slots on anybody's planet?? all i know is if they show up on the map they'll be the biggest targets yet and will go down faster than they can be built.. lol
