I really like Thatguyeric's design. It fits the need to make moon popping less routine, while keeping speed and deut consumption bad enough that it will not end up as the next uber-attack ship. Well thought out design.

Man the mimbari cruiser has really set me off wanting to watch that series again...
I still remain unconvinced that we need another super ship rather than an en masse one, and again that we need a ship that is entirely one dimensional. Building an anti-RIP is well and good, as long as thats not all it can do.

Solar Guardian sounds good. Moon Guardian could fit better though ?

I should probably start a new post for this, but, at the same time its relavant to this post.

As this is to be an anti RIP DEFENSIVE idea, why not make it a new kind of planitary Defense gun, Perhaps avalable to be ONLY built on moons. Make it very expensive as discussed, but, perhaps, have it increase the Moons apparent size vs Destroy Missions. Each gun increases the moons diameter by say, 500 to 1000 km non random. Or maby by 5%.

Im still too much of a noob to do the numbers (and I suck at math) But it seems closer to what you guys are really saying you want.

NOTE: IT does NOT actualy increase moon size. Just in relation to Destroy missions.

You know... It woldnt even have to be a weapon... Could be something like "Graviton Shield" Build only on moons and decreases chance for successful Destroy Mission by 5%? 10%? per level.

Just my thoughts

I don't think it is as much of a defensive weapon as it is an counter to an overpowered weapon. I prefer it taking a ship form.
