Since the migration, SPEED runs at top speed, no lag noticed, no busy times, runs well below capacity. We had the crash today with some downtime but these things happen. Before the migration, it was getting periodical lags at busy times; this has been fixed.

X-TREME has had some busy times. Some lag on X-TREME is acceptable on busy times as it could use a better machine but unfortunately cannot pay for it. In general, X-TREME should be more than fine 95% of the time. The rest 5% should be minor lag. There has not been any major lag in our records.

Standard has had no issues in the past, neither now.

Most of the time, issues are local so make some extra efford and join chat. Ask the rest of the players if they experience a problem. The chat should be accessible any time as it is hosted on a 4th, independent server. If you verify lag with other players, send us an email as we are very interested to see and fix anything we can.

Zorg, before I ever report lag on the game, I ALWAYS make sure it is not on my side. Yesterday the only issues of lagging I had were with xtreme, there were multiple times of the page not loading... I checked my other games I play which were on in my windows to make sure it was not on my side. Not to mention the fact that I was looking on standard universe and having no problems. This is why I know it was on your side for the xtreme universe.

A busy server will most of the time be difficult for a user to discern due to a lot of background processes that are not related with players online (for example, we run backup routines when traffic is low and there might be momentary spikes because of this which in some cases can result in lag). X-TREME and Standard should not have any problem to host at least 250 online players; The average high for these universes is 190. Speed should be able to host more than 1000 without any issues. All machines run on more than enough bandwidth, connection speed and resources in order to deliver lightning speed gameplay. The performance tweaks take place everyday but these performance tweaks aim for issues that a player will not easily discern.

Lag is always possible and there can be numerous reasons for lag. Any lag we experience in any server, is minor. When we say lag, we mean that the page will take 1 second to deliver instead of 0.05 seconds. Systems indeed run on 0.05 seconds of average serving time on 95% of the day. Lag like 3 seconds to serve a page is inexistent in our servers and we can prove it by putting a page load timer on our pages (not a priority right now). Whenever we experience anything different, we upgrade. Speed has been upgraded, X-TREME has been upgraded.

If you experience constant lag issues, I recommend you get a better line/internet provider and/or upgrade your pc. I suggest google chrome for browsing as it is the most lightweight right now (although latest Firefox seems okay too). An old pc with Firefox 3 will definitely see great difference if it changes to google Chrome. Finally, keep in mind that the more tabs/programs you have open, the more it becomes less responsive. Any system with 4 cores cpu and 4GB ram and higher won't have to trouble about browsers or tabs.
