Re: RIP Consumption
#2For your information. Following are the details you need to keep in mind before you vote.
**All stats are based on 100% RIP speed.
100 RIP maneuvering cost
Across galaxy
cost 1 consumption at 1
Deut needed 3
cost 2 consumption at 1000
Deut needed 2,286
cost 3 consumption at 3000
Deut needed 6,858
cost 4 consumption at 10000
Deut needed 22,858
------------------------------------------------
and now a regular BC fleet 18000 equivalent of 100 RIP
at 100%
deut needed 10,285,715

Re: RIP Consumption
#3This voting will have an affect to our decision to alter RIP consumption in all universes. SPEED universe will launch tomorrow with a consumption of 1500 but this may also change along with other universes to final decision.
We find no reason for such low consumption. RIPS might be slow but this amount of consumption does not justifies the speed difference. Any values from 1500 to 3000 seem more than reasonable for speed/consumption ratio in compare to other ships but if you also throw in power, then it still looks ridicously low.
If you want it to stay at 1, it would be good to explain us why because we fail to see any reason that would help the game become better. We want to balance and improve and having the most powerful ship at 1 unit consumption is not helping towards this.
The current talk comes right before the implementation of the new universe and new ships in X-TREME. Standard will be still affected and Standard will most probably get the new ships after some time (X-TREME is older in terms of time around and the new ships are necessary there. Standard players may discuss on when they want the new ships in their respective thread.).

Re: RIP Consumption
#4i voted stay them same but after thinking it threw and speaking to ppl in game i feel it would b best to move it to 3000 so zorg if u can plz move my vote from 1 to 3000
what makes a man a man,is not how he starts stuff....but how he finishs it
Re: RIP Consumption
#5It is soo slow that the deut needed would be less, it almost floats to its attack and drifts back. An 8 minute attack on a bc costs 4mil, but if i attacked with RIPs around 555 but it takes around 2 hours, 4 hours total, so if i had to pay much more then i think its just pointless having them.
If you change consumption/ Speed must also dramtically reduce which wont be fair on miners and turtles or new players.
Its perfectly fine as it is, any changes will not be for the good on any side.
Personally a poor suggestion, the only negatives will be from those who are turtles, miners, noobs or anyone who doesnt actually use the ships!

Re: RIP Consumption
#6I would caution Zorg and the Admins that making such a drastic change to the Death Star could potentially cause the Ruby buying population to stop buying them and stop playing Zorg. I for one will stop buying Rubies if such a change is made without making any change to the speed of the Death Star.
Why is it so important to make modifications to current ships. Why not implement the "New" approved ships instead. This has got to be the stupidest suggestion I have ever seen.
Keep it the way it is.

#7While I agree with the topical answer, I think the assumption that people would stop buying rubies and then stop playing the game to be a bit over-reaching. The ratio of fleeters to miners and turtles will pretty much tell you that. People will always play no matter what happens, and always buy rubies on some level, it's just the way it is. Though, I can understand your reaction, we all say things a little drastically when we are confronted by such a terrible change.Lodbrok wrote:I would caution Zorg and the Admins that making such a drastic change to the Death Star could potentially cause the Ruby buying population to stop buying them and stop playing Zorg. That being said, keep it as it is. It has been that way, and functioned well in many games across many universe for nearly 10 years for a reason.

Re: RIP Consumption
#8Like to add one more stat to the above.
The Number of LC needed to do an iquivalent cargo transfer is as follows
4000 LC
Consumption of deut is 457,143
at 100%.
Now a bit of pointer on what is the basic difference between RIP attacks and normal fleets attacks.
Purpose:
RIP mission:
* Moon destruction.
* Defense bash to turn a planet profitable for the future raids.
the speed factor for rip raid is basically their cause most rip raids are in general are raids rather attacks. and it is in almost all cases safe. the wish to have rips to be used as attack fleet is just unreasonable and really not practical as rips were never designed to be used as such.
what currently is in game is really dont make much difference as even with large distance rips still are the cheapest to maneuver in game even if u choose 3000. the death star with its raid bulk and the attack power still keeps them worthy of calling RIP.
on the first post u can actually see how very cheap the rips are for maneuvering in respect to the next cheapest attack fleet. even with the transfers rip gets way less than any one would think of.
so why increase rip consumption cost?
for that u need to know how rips are being used mostly. its kind of like a button to get more resoures without thinking of consequences. press it and u get free (well considering the cost it is kinda like that) resources.
we have seen there has been raids run down to in the name of profit with rips.
now if there is 26 metal (mind it i am just saying only 26 metal not 26.000 or 26.000.000) 100 rip raid will profit from it. tada!! u got profit of 1 metal from a raid 186 system away or across galaxy with a cost of 3 deut.
now tell me if that is hilarious or not!!!!
i got nothing more to add to this.

#9OFF TOPIC:
I would caution anyone who wants to refer to me personally or to administration to do it in a proper manner. Any kind of threats directed towards me or the administration will start resulting in bans from now on. Same will go for trolling. These are the forum rules.

Keeping RIP consumption that low has other affects as well instead of ship comparison where even at 3000, the consumption is still laughable.
By keeping RIP consumption low, it means that anyone can have free rides on trips at Moon Destroy mission. This means that someone who wants to pop a moon can do it for fun as he really has nothing to do except from a very rare (1%) risk.
EDIT: Anyone can change his vote at will.

Re: RIP Consumption
#10The only positive that I can see from the low consumption rips have, is that it can increase profits from a raid, thus increasing posibilities of raids. This is why we want to find a good consumption value for it or else we would just raise it without discussion.
Discussion though on valid grounds is the one that is helpful so please focus on this.
